New Story Bundle

A new StoryBundle, the book store that sells novels and essays in digital format and a popular price package, compiles eight books on video games in its new summer edition. There is a bit of everything from nostalgic retrospectives to detailed studies.

For five dollars three books are offered: HG101 Presents: Classics of the arcade of Sega, by Kurt Kalaka, the review in two volumes to the games that the company developed for the recreational ones; Critical Hits, by Zoë Jellicoe, an anthology of articles written by ten "audacious and unusual voices" of video game criticism, prologue by Cara Ellison; And once at a point and click, by David L. Craddock, who explores the races of Roberta Williams and Jane Jensen and his graphic adventures for Sierra, as well as the evolution of the genre in general.

From fifteen dollars the collection increases in five titles. Son Fallen Down: Heartache & Compassion in Undertale, by Joel Couture, about the relationships that are established with the wide and varied cast of Toby Fox's game; The Offworld Collection, by Leigh Alexander and Laura Hudson, another anthology of articles extracted from Offworld, the indispensable web that Alexander and Hudson took for a while; Independent by Design, by Stace Harman and John Robertson, chronicles the experiences of a good independent researcher and developer, from Vlambeer or Dennaton to inXile or Lucas Pope; The Kingdom Hearts II book by Boss Fight Books, by Alexa Ray Corriea, another personal and unique look at the Square Enix and Disney game; And somebody set Us Up of the ROM, first part, of John Harris, on the fascinating and the dark world of the romhacks.

As usual, books can be downloaded in various formats to be read in Kindles, Kondles, Kundles or whatever the device they use for these things.
