When Pokémon GO released its trailer before the launch of the game, we saw a glimpse of trainer battles in it. It's a feature that has been missing since launch, except for the battles in Gyms but then the defending Trainers have nothing to say in regards of moves etc. After all this time it seems like Niantic has the Trainer Battles feature almost ready. As they announced that Trainer Battles will be coming soon!
Using a Trainer Battle Code we will be able to challenge other Trainers to battle. When challenging another Trainer we can assemble a team of 3 Pokémon for the fight. After a Trainer Battle both Trainers will receive great rewards, including a chance for rare evolution items. These rewards are most likely going to be limited to a certain amount of battles per day or week. It will also be possible to challenge your Team Leader, or perhaps even all 3 of them.
To create a more even playing field you have to be in the same Trainer Battle League. There will be three of these leagues.
- Great League: Max CP per Pokémon: 1500
- Ultra League: Max CP per Pokémon: 2500
- Master League: No limit
Trainers will usually have to be nearby in order to initiate a Trainer Battle with each other. Ultra Friends and Best Friends can challenge each other from any distance though. So, near or far, you can battle with your closest friends!
I'm definitely looking forward to trying out this feature! Are you as well?
I have enjoyed the Pokemon PvP battles so far. Have you tried experimenting and seen what works well and what not?
That's great to hear! I haven't really been experimenting yet as I was abroad when it released so only tried a few battles against the team leaders. Which was nice, they seem to mostly using their type and then their Legendary bird.
Have you been experimenting?
