Greetings Steemit community, first of all I want to wish you a happy year to all, today I bring you a brief analysis of a game that came out on September 15, 2015, an indie video game developed, written and designed by Toby Fox. I'm talking about Undertale, considered one of the best games of the year 2015, yes, that game that with an "I do not know what" captivated thousands of people, which I include myself.
Undertale
The game begins by telling us a brief history, humans and monsters coexisted with total normality on the surface, nevertheless, one day a war is unleashed by which the monsters finish expelled to the underground, between the surface and the underground there is a magic barrier that separates these two worlds one from another, the barrier can be passed through without problems by the people of the surface, while those of the subsoil cannot do so ... at least not so easily. One day, a human child falls through this barrier, we are this little human, and from here begins the wonderful story that Undertale has for us. At the beginning of the game will not be long until we find 2 characters, which have their way of seeing things, one that tells us that we have to end everything that crosses our path, while the other tells us otherwise, That we should become friends of everything (yes, an RPG in which you do not have to kill everything to advance). Whatever route you take, you have to keep in mind that our decisions will have consequences that will lead to different endings. Something that is worth noting is that the game is very "troll" so be prepared for it and also will make you laugh several timess with different humoristic scenarios.
We will soon realize that the combat system offers several options, first of all we have a LVL and a health bar, there are the options "FIGHT" to attack, "ACT" to check the characteristics of the enemy or "talk" with him or do some action, "ITEM" to use some object, mainly to heal us and "MERCY" either to flee or spare the enemy (we will know when we can spare the enemy since the name of this will appear in yellow, although this is also said in the game) It is important to note that in order to spare the enemy we should have done one or more actions with "ACT". Of course, not only us will be able to perform actions, our enemies will also attack us, this is represented in a square in which there will be a heart (us) so we must dodge the "projectiles" (if it could be said so) that they throw us, as in the game there are lots of enemies, each one will have their attack patterns, some more difficult to dodge than others. Of course, as in every good RPG, there are "Bosses", each one with its different rules of combat.
As for graphics, when the people see it at first it do not draw much their attention since the graphics are "retro" type, however, in this case we could apply to the perfection the saying "do not judge a book by its cover "as Undertale with its simplistic graphics achieves a very pleasant gaming experience.
As for the soundtrack, it is simply a masterpiece, the songs and sounds fit perfectly to each of the characters, scenarios and situations that are presented in Undertale. I will give you two recommendations on my part.
1- If it is the first time that you play it, I recommend do it without killing anyone and befriending all possible characters (pacifist route), and investigating everywhere so you can learn more about the background of the game. This way you can get the good ending and believe me when I tell you that this ending is very worthwhile, and surely will bring you up several emotions and feelings (as it did with me)
2- If you decide to play it killing everything that moves (genocide route) keep in mind the consequences because you're going to have a VERY bad time...
In conclusion, Undertale is considered by many one of the best games, however this is not perfect, in my opinion has some details, although these are few and do not affect much. This is a game with an excellent history, also very emotional game, with a lot of humor that leaves nothing to be desired. Honestly speaking, I consider it as a game that has marked my life.
Thank you very much if you have come here, I hope you liked the content; you can leave me a vote if so. You can also leave me a comment with your opinion about the post content or give me a suggestion on how I could do better in the next ones :)
