Video gamers are undoubtedly used to bugs, certainly the one recently discovered for PS4 that will make you travel back in time is something else entirely.
For those who have not yet upgraded to the new generation of PlayStation, so you can give it a try on Amazon in Reservations, there is a new bug to experience.
It's certainly more fun than the one in Overwatch 2 that makes the PC shut down, and which was among the problems that infuriated the community at launch.
Not to mention the one in FIFA 23 that prevents the game from starting on Steam and Origin clients for PCs, also problematic at launch of course.
The one discovered by some users is a rather curious PS4 bug because, in a way, it allows you to time travel.
As Game Rant reports, the bug in question marks some saves and trophies as having been obtained in 1970. A period that slightly predates the existence of PlayStation 4.
In a recent post on Reddit, a user named csakif25__ shared an image from one of his PS4's menus. Intent on creating a party chat with his friends, the PS4 system points out (erroneously) that all selected users were already in a group together.
After manually searching for his friends from the list, the console interface shows groups created on January 1, 1970:
A similar thing happened to another user, also on Reddit, who found all his Grand Theft Auto IV trophies marked as having been obtained always on January 1, 1970:
Fortunately, this is merely a strange bug but one that does not create any real problems for users, who can still continue to play and use the console in peace.
Not like the one that emerged from the PC version of Spider-Man that definitely makes it problematic to continue fluttering around New York fighting bad guys.
Speaking of PS4, Sony does not want to say goodbye to its millions of gamers who will not be forgotten.
