High Refresh Rate Monitors

in #gaming2 years ago

I remember when I was in high school around 17-18 years old and I was arguing with classmates that there is no benefit with a monitor 144 Hz over 60 Hz, I thought 60 FPS is an awesome smooth advantage compared to 30 FPS
1-2 years later when I bought new PC I decided to give a try and I bought 75 Hz monitor, I was short on money. And that 15 FPS difference over 60 FPS was already noticeable, I was even furthermore impressed when some time later I bought a phone with 90 Hz display and whoa... I enjoyed that much I decided to go full power and that's why I have now 240 Hz monitor :dogohappy: if you want my opinion, it's not really that worthy to go that high, but when I play games with 120 or 144 FPS cap it's really noticeable and nicer compared to standard 60 FPS, if you at some point decide to upgrade your PC consider buying at least 120 Hz monitor, it's really awesome!
Nowadays I'm even mad that YouTube limits videos to only 60 FPS because that smoothness is really satisfying to watch
I heard about laptops with 360 Hz screens or monitors with 500+ refresh rate but it's really not worthy, it starts to be hard to notice a difference, the higher we go the more it's unnoticeable. I'd say the most reasonable choice (when it comes to gaming) is to buy a monitor with 144 Hz - 180 Hz refresh rate depending on your wealthy. I can't see a difference with bare eye when I play DOOM at 200 or 240 FPS, it becomes just smooth and can't be more for human eye
