Ever since the original title amazed us on Xbox 360, we have been biting our nails for the sequel to come out. State of Decay 2 will be a zombie survival game, though now it will be bringing the multi-player experience towards us.
In the first game we delved into a single-player experience as we rounded up together with the other survivors, built communities and fought against the zombie apocalypse. Now the developers will be giving us the ability to jump into the action solo or with up to three buddies.
State of Decay 2 will not have one main protagonist. This time, the developers are bringing individual skills for each character. That being said, every character will play their role in order to successfully survive the apocalypse. We will find ourselves working together with the other survivors and making sure chaos does not break loose.
When looking at the trailer, we can notice that there's some gardening and building involved, so we may expect a change of pace in State of Decay 2. Taking a break from the gore and building things may be appealing for some players.
The developers confirmed that there will be three maps at launch, each approximately the same size as the one in the original game. We should expect to witness various different environment which allow different types of strategies and even unique missions.
State of Decay 2 will most likely be available in spring of 2018 on Xbox One and PC. The developers acknowledged that they seek to give the players exactly what they want.

State of Decay really surprised me, i got it on special offer for the PC for about $5 and i had hours of fun with it. Its probably one of the better single player takes on the whole zombie apocalypse & walking dead scenario.
I particuarly liked the RPG elements to building up each character in the safehouses then using them to go out at forage. Also upgrading the safehouses was great fun, building your own fortress really gave the game some longevity.
Lets hope they can pull all that off and more with this sequal :)
Well by the current looks of it, there's a high chance they can pull off even more improvements. Only time will show though, raising expectations too high might not be smart too.
