I tried Dead By Daylight and Friday The 13th. Hated both of those also. They’re coming out with Texas Chainsaw Massacre soon and as cool as that sounds, I know the gameplay will be just as boring to me.

ha! I never tried Friday but I feel exactly the same about this genre of game. It's just not my thing and it doesn't really matter what kind of spin you put on it, I'm just not ever going to really like the overall style of this sort of thing. I'm guessing a lot of other people DO like it though and that is why they keep doing it.
I would have loved to have seen an Evil Dead RPG of sorts but I think they already tried to do that and failed pretty badly with it. If I recall correctly it took place at the original cabin and well, there just isn't really much to that place. With the Ash vs Evil Dead universe they could make it even open-world if they really wanted to but perhaps the fanbase isn't big enough for something like that.
Dead by Daylight is even adding Nic Cage and I'm still not interested despite him being one of my favorite actors of all time.
All of these horror games would be so much cooler as singleplayer RPGs.
As someone who is not a fan of multi-player in a general sense, I totally agree.
