RE: Pushing the Playstation 2 to its Absolute Limit!

in #gaming7 years ago

Much information, so wow. Wow. So good, much great post.

Okay, really though. Good write up on the PS2, man. I was wondering when you were gonna get to this one. I definitely miss my original Xbox a lot, but man. I spent a fuck ton of time gaming on this console. Particularly with the Dot Hack series, can't even tell you how many hours I spent on those.

I forgot how good God of War/God of War 2 looked as well until reading this, it's crazy how good graphics got in the early 2000's compared to the 90's.

Sort:

I feel like we've plateaued since then. Technology keeps getting better, that's not the bottleneck, the ability of human digital artists and the budget of major game projects are where the bottleneck is now. That's my best guess as to why graphics haven't meaningfully improved beyond Crysis in the last 10 years.

Yeah, I can't really disagree. I think there's some small room left for improving upon digital art, but I can't see how graphics can get much better at this point in time. Though, I think we can both agree that Duke Nukem Forever was the pinnacle of gaming technology, leaving no room for improvement.

Well I mean, it had wall titties. How do you top that? It's impossible.

Also, damn, dude! You've already picked up another 100 followers, that's crazy. You're gonna hit 3k easily within the next month, man :)
