Why I’m Making Knight Estate, And Why I Need You Along for the Ride

in #gaming2 months ago

When I joined Hive in 2021, I was an artist for Wrestling Organization Online (WOO). The journey has been transformative and the community has enriched my skills beyond measure. A cornerstone of the Hive blockchain, Splinterlands inspired me deeply. Under the mentorship of my boss @bookerman, the CEO of WOO, I have evolved into a game developer, learning from the best in the industry.

I’m beyond excited to share Knight Estate with you, a game that’s been brewing in my head for quite some time and officially launching on November 30, 2024. As an artist with nearly a decade of experience bringing ideas to life, I decided to pivot toward making games I’d love to play. Knight Estate, my solo debut, brings together two things I’ve always been drawn to: history and choice-driven, strategic gameplay. Imagine if Crusader Kings and BitLife had a baby, and you’ll get the essence of Knight Estate, a game where you live as a medieval knight, managing estates, guiding your family, and maybe, just maybe, conquering Europe.

Why This Game is Different

Set between 1299 and 1400, Knight Estate lets you play as a knight in an age of power struggles and alliances. Whether you’re micro-managing your estate, making tough personal decisions, or engaging in political plots with famous historical figures like Robert the Bruce, each choice has a lasting impact. The twist? It’s accessible for free to everyone on Android first, with an iOS version coming a month or less later.

This game represents not only the countless hours I’ve poured into coding, designing, and obsessing over every detail but also the thrill of combining my artistic roots with game development. Creating Knight Estate is my way of blending what I’ve learned with what I love most about gaming, immersive stories, and tough choices.

Your Chance to Be Part of Knight Estate

I’m reaching out to you not just to get the word out but to invite you to become part of this journey. Right now, our Discord community is almost 60 members strong. If you’re as excited about Knight Estate as I am, please consider joining. As an incentive, I’m offering something special for the first 1,000 members who join our Discord. I can’t promise exactly how I’ll repay you, but trust me, I will. Maybe it’s exclusive in-game items, early access, or something entirely unique, I’ll figure it out, and you’ll be part of the first to benefit.

A Grateful Heart

To everyone who has supported me on this journey — especially my girlfriend, Terisa, my sister, Gillian, and my boss, Bookerman — thank you. Knight Estate wouldn’t be here without you.

So here’s to Knight Estate, a simulation of the medieval era I hope you’ll love exploring as much as I loved creating. Join our Discord, and follow our Twitter today to become part of the community early. Together, we’ll build a game that resonates with everything I’ve learned as an artist, and with the dreams we have as gamers to make the games we’d love to play.

See you on November 30th.
