Hello, readers. Today we will review one of the video games that marked 2017, in addition to being the largest delivery of NINTENDO this past year. And many will know what game I speak, of course, The Legend Of Zelda "Breath of the Wild", which is the first open world of the Zelda saga.
Link, our protagonist returned to defeat Ganon, 100 years after the destruction of Hyrule, Link spent 100 years dozing to return with renewed strength and restart his battle against Ganon. Our protagonist is again the beloved child of NINTENDO after a few months of absence, the time of his departure was at least perfect to increase sales of the NINTENDO Switch.
During the first weeks of his launching, the game collected ratings of 9/10 and 10/10 on the most important videogame and critic portals in the world. Although, in my personal opinion, I would put an 8/10. I played it on a friend's console during the first days of its release and I was very hooked, although, I'm more of SONY-style games.
I found it very interesting to be able to try everything new that the Switch offered with such a good quality game.
The setting of the game takes place in Hyrule 100 years after losing the fight against Ganon. Having spent so much time, the world has become a much more futuristic, something that really surprised me was the fact that Link had a Tablet that helped him to keep track of the missions.
Being an open map we are forced to explore in order to find our way, we must not follow a strict map sequence to achieve our goals. During the exploration we can find potions, treasures, tame beasts, weapons ... that will help us defeat Ganon in the final battle.
One of the things that most impressed me about this game is the complete and well done development, not to mention the extra that is designed for mobility, that is, to be used in the console in its portable version.
Although, previously I mentioned that I like more SONY style games. The Legend of Zelda "Breath of the Wild" is a game that is enjoyed from the beginning and in my humble opinion it is necessary to play it slowly to discover all its charm and the whole map of Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a game that has everything: history, narrative, the background of the previous installments, the characters, the action, the calm, the charm and the controversy over the new console.
Now let's move to a slightly more specific plane to analyze certain characteristics of the game.
POSITIVE ASPECTS
Gameplay: Wonderful, the capacity to move around the world without restrictions, makes you have a great enthusiasm to explore every corner of the map, really worthy of admiration. It offers a huge amount of emerging experiences, which makes you immerse yourself more and more in the game. With respect to their controls, excellent almost always, with some exceptions that I will mention later, few dislikes during all my hours of play.
Hours of play: From my point of view here I would put a 9/10, you have the possibility of passing the game in 15 hours if you wish, but the game and its essence call you to explore, to know every corner of the map and get to dedicate about 100 hours of game to complete the campaign.
Dungeons: The number of dungeons is quite large, but in addition to the amount, the quality of them is huge. There are tests of strength, sanctuaries with challenges or simply search. That they have very good quality, does not mean that at some point they do not become repetitive due to their large number. Although, in the same way they contribute to a world full of possibilities.
Hyrule: The map is so well designed that each area is unique, with characteristics, flora and fauna that differentiate them from each other. Hyrule's art is beautiful, sublime. The hills, the sunsets and sunrises, everything is simply incredible. It does not have areas that have to be loaded to be visualized, the exploration of the map can be done without those annoying load screens that they appreciate from time to time.
Sound: To the sound of the game I also give it a 10/10. The sound of the game, of the battles, the movement of the trees and the soundtrack are wonderful, the truth is, I did not expect them to be so good. I'm sure that some themes of the soundtrack will be remembered for a long time.
NEGATIVE ASPECTS
Gyroscope: Large gaps in the gyroscope of the game, many times it becomes uncontrollable. To say a positive point about it is that it can be deactivated.
Trees: Not all trees on the map can be cut. It is not a very important aspect although the same should be taken into account.
Swim: The swim system is not fun or profitable at all, even if you drink elixirs. Even, it does not have diving system.
Bosses: Some of the great battles against bosses are a bit disappointing, desperating and chaotic. You just have to try and try to overcome it thanks to test and error.
Variety of weapons: The variety of weapons is quite limited, we only have 5 different types of bow, one hand, leaf log, weapons to chop materials, long weapons and large weapons.
Final boss: The final fight against Ganon is really easy and without any added emotion. In my opinion, quite basic.
CONCLUSIÓN
It is an excellent video game with many more good things than bad 8/10 in my opinion. Looking at it from the point of view that it is a ZELDA video game, the open world in the style of GTA V does not quite fit the style of the saga, which we have been seeing for a lot of years, but, perhaps That was his intention. The game can perfectly be oriented to complete the 4 beasts and then wander through the open world, which can be somewhat strange. In my opinion, a bit incomplete in terms of narrative. I repeat, in my humble opinion, my qualification for this installment is a great 8/10.
