On my page I mostly talk about games and most of those games are paid games, recently I was asked to talk about a few more free games as a lot of the time people don't want to pay for a game that they may not spend a lot of time on. So I decided I would start a new short series highlighting my favourite free games.
The games I will talk about will mostly be pretty big games that have a lot of game play to get through as there is a lot of free games out there however it can be quite hard to find a free game that actually has a lot of content. The game I will cover will also mostly be on Steam.
Warframe
Warframe is a co-op third person shooter however it is a little different from your average shooter.
The game is based after a huge war that covered the whole of the solar system which completely changed the landscape of every planet. The war was between two humanoid factions, the Orokin and the Sentient after the fighting erupted the Orikin began to badly lose and to try to regain the upper hand they decided to create and release the infested onto their enemies.
The infested started to work at taking over and destroying the Sentient however it could not be controlled and began to spread to its own creators, the Orikin then knew that they would have to seek technology from the void. From entering the void some of the Orikin began to develop powers during this time the Warframe technology was found.
Then it was discovered that the Orikin who developed powers, now called the Tenno, could operate the Warframe tech, however the Tenno betrayed their leaders and destroyed both the Orikin and Sentient and then disappeared.
Now the Tenno are back to bring balance to the solar system.
Frames
There are currently 31 frames in the game, each with unique stats and abilities;
Excalibur
Trinity
Mirage
Each frame as I said is unique so they all have a slightly different job, each frame has five base stats;
Health
Shield
Armor
Power
Speed
Along with these stats you also have four different abilities and three weapons; a primary, secondary and melee.
Some frames are better for solo missions as they have better defensive stats and can handle taking on challenges on their own, and other frames are better suited for playing as a team because their abilities work well alongside others.
Mods
Mods are used to power up your frames and your weapons, in-game there is a massive amount of different mods that can be used to build your frame in loads of different ways, some will be used to make a frame more defensive or to make them have more ability strength etc. Each mod takes up a certain amount of space on a frame/weapon however as you level up a frame/weapon you gain more space, on top of this you can also use items to double the items space.
Each mod also has a polarity and the same goes for frames and weapons, if you match the polarities the mod used will take up less space, allowing you to use stronger mods. As you can see from the photo the mods have small glowing dots at the bottom which represent the level of the mod, to get to max level you have to combine them with other mods which will make them considerably stronger however they will also take up more space.
Prime
I won't go into too much detail on what prime is, so it is basically a stronger version of an item, weapon or frame. Prime parts are a lot harder to get than normal parts however they are considerably stronger although you won't be able to get them right away.
Overall
Overall Warframe is a great game with a huge amount of content, the game is also constantly being worked on and updated so new weapons, frames and mods are always slowly getting introduced to the game which means there is always something more to get. Personally I think Warframe is a great game as you can play four hours on end without getting bored as the game-play itself is very smooth and because it is based on all the planets in our solar system there is a lot of different scenery, so you aren't just playing the same maps over and over.
I will also be live streaming Warframe when this post goes live so if you are interested in seeing what the game-play is like and just to get a general feel of the game the link is
