Whats Up Stemian guys, It's time to share a new review of retro games, this post is dedicated to a game that arouses me in a long time and I confess that in those times I never finish.
This is Goof Troop, a video game of the year 1993 based on the animated series of the same name, went to the Super Nintendo console or known in Japan as Super Famicom and shows us the adventures of Goofy and Max in the search of their neighbors and friends Pete and his son PJ.
The story tells how Goofy and company go fishing to enjoy the day until they meet a huge pirate ship which takes Pete and P.J as hostages. Max and Goofy row with all their strength to try to reach the pirate ship but only manage to see how far it reaches an island where they presume that is the stronghold of these ruffians.
From here the game starts and you must go through 5 levels (Beach, Village, Castle, Cavern and Pirate Ship).
The game works with an aerial camera that shows both characters simultaneously on the same screen, having the possibility to play cooperatively, this game also has puzzle elements in which you will spend time thinking how to solve them in order to continue advancing, in them You must think about how to organize the objects you have to unlock the area.
The gameplay: It is the best, each character has its own characteristics that make it different from the other and that make the cooperative field indispensable, you move through scenarios in which you have objects such as pots, barrels, etc. to defend yourself against enemies and for example Goofy can defeat the pirates when throwing an object, instead Max must throw two objects to be able to get rid of the same enemy in question however this little fella is faster so you can easily escape from the pirates that they persecute you.
You have at your disposal a series of objects that you can keep and use as you advance in the level, among these objects are: The anchor which allows you to hit and stun (but not eliminate) the enemy and will sometimes serve as a bridge to pass between areas that you normally can't, the bell which you can use as a bait to attract pirates to you, the shovel that in the right terrain allows you to dig to find treasures and finally the candle which you can have more range of vision in the dark areas of the levels. However nothing is perfect and the game is too short, being a good player will take no more than two hours to pass it and it is not too difficult to say.
Graphics: Cartoons, picturesque colors, makes you feel that you see a chapter of the series, are very well achieved and have the style that characterizes them.
Sound: The 8-bit, endearing and nostalgic to the core, although already well listening to it today is quite normal.
Presentation: It is not to go crazy, the story is quite simple but very funny, I assure you that it will make you laugh when you see the enemies stunned by the blow of a flower pot.
Originality: Quite a lot, for the time this was a total milestone since the opportunity to play two people at the same time and cooperate was something totally new.
In conclusion is a great classic of Capcom, the same company that brought us titles such as Megaman or even the legendary Resident Evil, this time it's shown with this fun game that on more than one occasion will put us to use the neurons a little, run, throw the first thing you find kicking boxes, fall through ravines all this and more awaits you when playing Goof Troop. Don't miss it!
