I preorder mostly for the discount many retailers offer now.
I think games are more glitchy because they are becoming increasingly complex but publishers don't want to fund bigger or better development teams.
Also i think that waiting a couple weeks after release gives you a better idea of how good a game is. Initial reviews are very emotional it seems and exaggerated. Look at destiny for example. Initially a lot of bad reviews but the game did extremely well.
But for the most part I agree with you, preorders are becoming more of a marketing tactic than anything else.
At least for some smaller developers it's a way to bring in funds to finish the game but it doesn't seem as common now

Exactly! I am 100% with you on all of that, Typically for 'reviews' I look at someone playing the game a few weeks after release, to see if it's a game that I would be interested in playing. Thank you very much :D I hope you enjoy my future posts!
