I actually think party gaming is starting to gain popularity. Board games and social deduction games certainly are, and we also have escape rooms becoming ultra popular when it was hardly known a few years ago.

Good point about escape rooms. We have had two locations offering two rooms each pop up here locally to me and I live in central Arkansas - not exactly "escape room" headquarters here. They are getting popular, though expensive (the ones here charge about $21 per person for one hour).
The place I went to charges $35-$40 per person (I'm from Australia), so $21 pp is pretty lucky ^^ Still, I thought it was worth the money.
I may have to go do one with my wife when we are looking for something interesting and new to try out. I mean, they sound fun, just having trouble with that entry fee. lol
They're fun and interesting until you get stuck. Then your $21 might not seem so worth it ha!
That is my problem. I get stuck easily. When I play adventure games and get stuck I often take a break and play something else for a bit. Can't really do that with an escape room.
Don't get stuck then :)
