I had $12 in paypal. I was looking to get this month's humble monthly, but I also wanted to get other stuff.
I know hb monthly gives me more games after the month is over, so I went to steamtrades.com because maybe I could get $12 for the three games instantly unlocked at purchase time - Hollow Knight, HITMAN™: The Complete First Season, and 7 Days to Die.
There was this guy who'd pay up to $11.50 over paypal for the three games because, well, that is profitable for him. But my country has no friends & family option available for paypal, so I'd lose some of that money in fees. It would not be worth it then.
Browsing through some options, I decide to ask him if he can purchase some credit for me over at dailyindiegame.com, which he agrees to. But there's no gifting option, so I can give him my paypal purchase link so he can continue where I left it off.
It backfires and registers an account using his paypal email using his credit. But it's okay, since he never even used the site before. He logs in, picks a password for me and hands it over so I can use those $11.5 to my heart's content, later changing the password and giving it back to him.
So now I have $11.50 on dailyindiegame, the game unlocks from humble monthly later (for basically $0.50 since the whole month is $12) and I still keep the privileges from being subbed on the site like getting bonus store wallet credit when I buy some of the bundles and 5% back from every store purchase.
From dailyindiegame I'm going to get lots of game keys on the cheap. Usually crappy games but enabled for the Steam card drop system, which I will either sell or save for badge crafting during the winter sale, whichever is more profitable depending on individual card values.
The steam wallet fund I get from that will be used to purchase counter-strike case keys to sell on bitskins later on, which forks towards many different gamer investment paths.
I do this kind of thing all day long.
