One of the least surprising things to come out of Nintendo’s E3 press conference was a new Super Mario Odyssey trailer, and most will agree how impressive, fresh, and weird it looks. You can watch the trailer below.
The new trailer doesn’t just show Mario being Mario, but Mario being all kinds of other things also: Goombas, a frog, even a T-Rex. We expected his magic cap to play a part, but not have shape shifting qualities.
Nintendo has also released a demonstration of the game, which you can watch below.
It looks like Super Mario Odyssey will be like 64 and Galaxy in that it’s open world. Each city will act as a level, with different missions in each one.
In order to move up a city the player has to collect moon pieces, much like the starts in Super Mario 64. Unlike the Nintendo 64 game, though, players won’t be forced to restart a level after finishing a mission. Rather, the game will continue, until the level is completed or exited.
Super Mario Odyssey is due to release in October on the Nintendo Switch.
Are you looking forward to Super Mario Odyssey?
