A Great Community Event but not Successful!?

I was ready to go with hundreds of pokeballs and berries to feed the Larvitars during this weekends Pokemon Go community event. The weather was perfect as the environment of a great park covered with trees provided parking and space for the dozens that came to take advantage of the pokestops and gyms available at the park.

My main goal for the event was to get three shinies so that I can get a shine for each Larvitar evolution. Unfortunately, I was only able to get during the whole event! I overheard people saying they had caught up to seven! I also heard a story of a person that stayed between a cluster of stops in the car and got four! That was my main disappointment given the randomness of the spawns. I did opt to evolve one to a Tyranitar for my collection.

The other positive note is that I was able to use hundreds of Larvitar candy to evolve and power up a strong team of what some say is the best attacker in the game given it’s new fast move Smack Down. Here are my two superstars for that team:

91 IV:

So while I did not achieve my goals, I cannot complain how strong my attacker team has gotten given the addition of these two guys. Niantic continues to deliver content and events which have kept the community engage with interesting things (wink wink for trading) on the horizon.

Thanks!

I got 3 shinies in an hour and that enough for me. Then, I forgot to have enough candy to evolve any of them! LOL!
