Shooters have had a big year this year with plenty of new titles along with huge eSports event for some of your favourites. These are the First Person Shooters you have nominated for this year's Australian Games Awards.
Whether you are a fan of the Battle Royale craze or you prefer the classic shooters, this year had something for you. You nominated your favourites that released or had a successful year this year. These are the games you can now vote for.
Battlefield V
Released not long ago in November, the 16th instalment of the much loved Battlefield series made its way to both PC and Consoles. EA has had a rough year this year following a lot of backlash over in-game microtransactions in a number of their titles. Battlefield is a classic series but V may not have taken off as much as EA may have hoped.
Call of Duty Black Ops 4
A highly anticipated release this year that made the controversial decision to remove the campaign. Black Ops 4 also introduced its own battle royale mode to rival that of Fortnite and PUBG. Despite a successful release, the Australian player count has dropped off a little as of late.
Escape from Tarkov
This game is a different take on the battle royale genre that began in early access back in 2016. The realistic survival game might be a little more hardcore than other shooters but it certainly deserves its place among these larger titles.
Far Cry 5
Far Cry is another classic series that keeps on giving with one of the only mainly singleplayer nominations. We have also been gifted with teasers for the next addition to the series that will be revealed at the Australian Games Awards. The trailer shows what appears to a nuclear explosion which would lead to the game being set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Fortnite
The battle royale that took the world by storm last year has had a massive year in 2018. Tournaments and Streamers have boosted the popularity of the Shooter to one of the most played games of the year. Even managing to win the Golden Joystick over Red Dead Redemption 2.
Player Unknown's Battlegrounds
The game that started the whole Battle Royale craze. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds was also released last year but has had plenty of longevity with eSports tournaments. Player counts have declined in recent months but its initial success cannot be ignored.
To vote for one of these shooters, go to the Australian Games Awards and vote under the Shooter of the Year category. Voting is open until the 7th of December before the winners are announced at the live presentation event on the 19th of December at Luna Park in Sydney.
