You won't have to wait too much longer to dive back into the nostalgia of Vanilla WoW because World of Warcraft Classic is launching August 27, 2019.
Some players might have already experienced and struggled with Vanilla WoW thanks to its demo last year but WoW Classic will be rolling out its closed beta tests from May 16, to help ready the game for its August release. These beta tests will be available to current WoW players with active subscriptions -- you will just need to sign up for it. But you can visit here to try an opt in to play WoW Classic before everyone else.
World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Brings Goodies
World of Warcraft's 15th anniversary is also this year and, like its 5th and 10th year milestones, Blizzard has announced that some exclusive content will be coming to the game later this year.
According Blizzard, the celebration will take place later on this year with a series of in-game events in World of Warcraft:Battle for Azeroth. These activities will build up to a 25-player raid that is set to put players up against some of the game's most iconic bosses. And at the end of it all, players will be able to ride across Azeroth on the Obsidian Worldbreaker -- a mount that bares a strong resemblance to Deathwing the Destroyer.
However, there is also a reward for those who choose just to log in during the anniversary event -- the adorable Lil'Nefarion pet.
People Like Statues
Blizzard is known for releasing some nice statues. The Sylvanas statue was darn impressive and while the jury's still out in regards to Jaina's face in her recently introduced statuette, Blizzard normally gets them right.
As part of their 15th anniversary celebration, Blizzard is also releasing the World of Warcraft 15th Anniversary Collector's Edition box, which features a black and gold Ragnaros statue that measures in at over 10 inches tall.
The box will also contain an Onyxia pin; 30 days of game time; a map of Azeroth mousepad; a set of art prints; and both the Alabaster Stormtalon and Alabaster Thunderwing mounts.
When and How Can You Get the Collector's Edition?
The Collector's Edition looks like it will be available here in Australia on October 9, 2019 and for players wanting to get their hands on the limited-edition items, JB HI-FI is currently taking pre-orders for the bundle at AUD$144 -- so get in quick.
As I would like to play Classic again, WoW was one of the MMORPGs I invested the most time in.
Absolutely! 8 hour raids haha
Can't wait for the classic release! I'll probably take a week off work to level.
