I think I received (press copy) and played Drakengard 1 on the PS2, but failed to find it appealing. My memory tells me it was mostly dull and empty at the time, but I wasn't the biggest fan of Japanese action RPGs at the time, so I didn't devote much time to it.

Yeah, after testing Drakengard out it didn't seem like the greatest game ever made by any stretch of the imagination. The action seemed stiff and a little generic but I think what excites me the most is it's ties to the Nier universe. I also have a soft spot for crappy PS2 action games haha.
I guess crappy action games is something that no system is lacking, so you have a lot of catching up to do :D
You put Hello Neighbor aside for the time being, I guess? Probably not that appealing?
Yep, for now. I do plan on revisiting it in the future as it does seem fun, I just get easily distracted. 😄
