Hey Steemians How are you? Today I bring something different to what they are used to seeing around here. After writing and subsequently publishing Speaking of the classics: Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue, I started thinking about what were the best games we could enjoy in the Game Boy or in its superior version, the Game Boy Color. And well after thinking about it for a few days, I'm already clear about the best games of the legendary portable console, so without further ado let's start!
POKEMON RED AND POKEMON BLUE
What did you expect? We are talking about the best games of Game Boy and obviously I was not going to leave out these mythical games that made more than one become a Pokemon trainer with the desire to catch them all. And is that the first game in the series created by GameFreak would be so popular that would end up creating the basis for one of the most successful franchises in the world of video games.
In these games we assume the role of a pokemon trainer with the aim of becoming a pokemon master. Our desire to be a pokemon master would lead us to an adventure in which we would have to travel the entire region to crown ourselves as the champion of the Kanto Pokemon League after overcoming a great number of challenges. If these games had not existed we might not be able to enjoy something as amazing as it is Pokemon, so that's why and much more Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue They deserve to be here.
METROID II: RETURN OF SAMUS
After the success of Metroid, Samus Aran would return with a new game which we would know as Metroid II: Return of Samus. In this installment of the saga, our protagonist would be hired again by the Galactic Federation and would be sent to the planet SR-388 with the mission to investigate the reason why the teams that had been sent previously to explore had not yet returned.
The game would take us to explore the planet in order to fulfill our mission. This in a few words was a great game, when it went on sale everyone went crazy since it had been more than five years since the first game's exit and the fans were screaming for a sequel, and good Nintendo he gave them to him.
SUPER MARIO LAND
That's right, Mario could not miss this on the list. Super Mario Land was very well received by many gamers of that time, being one of the most sold games of the portable console. It was an exclusive title of GameBoy, so if you did not have one you could forget to play it. Nintendo following the traditional formula of platform games that have characterized the saga, the famous company brought us a new game in which we would venture into the Sasaraland kingdom, having as sole mission to rescue Princess Daisy, but this would not be easy, because we would have to travel the entire kingdom and defeat the extraterrestrial Tatanga in order to fulfill our mission.
The game stood out among many titles for its gameplay and it was something sensational, we could crush our enemies, throw balls of fire and we could even pilot a ship and navigate the bottom of the evil with a submarine ... All these things made of Super Mario Land a unique game. Without a doubt an authentic classic and one of the best games in the saga of Nintendo.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: LINK'S AWAKENING
This would be the first game of the famous saga to reach the Game Boy. In this adventure Link loses his sword after a shipwreck and ends up stranded on the island Koholint, unarmed our hero goes in search of his sword and after finding it is visited by a mysterious owl that would let him know that his arrival has caused the monsters of the island will be upset, the owl would also tell Link that his fate would await him deep in the northern forest.
The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening for some time would be for many the best The Legend Of Zelda. Currently the game is considered cult among gamers, and no wonder, because his incredible story made this game one of the best of Game Boy.
TETRIS
And last but not least Tetris. Some may be surprised that this game is here taking into account other great games like the famous Metal Gear Solid or Donkey Kong, but this game revolutionized the world of video games of that time. Tetris had a simple but addictive game system that attracted many casual players.
It was the video game of the recreational par excellence, and had a great popularity among young and old. The game increased the sales and the popularity of the Game Boy and because of this we could not leave it out, since this along with other games like Pokemon ended up saving the portable console from failure …Further? We have all played Tetris, do not deny it, some even enjoy it to this day, and why deny it? The game is a classic.
The Game Boy was certainly amazing, it was a different console than any other, it was portable and you could take it anywhere. Today it has been almost thirty years since its launch and is remembered with nostalgia for many children of the nineties as what was ... a great console.

Oh great.
Yup, I would put Pokemon first, and tetris while it's one of the simplest games of all it's still interesting (maybe I too should make a tetris clone.)
I have yet to play any Metriod game, I want to play them in order and I'm still procrastinating.
I'd say Dragon Quest III should also be in here if you included GameBoy color games, it's still one of the best versions of that game and being on GBC means something!!
You have not played any of Metroid? How sad ... Play it now! (laughs), if undoubtedly the Dragon Quest III is also a good game, maybe talk about it in another post, thanks for your comment
Maybe I'll talk about DQIII in a future post. and yeah, I really should play Metriod... I'm thinking of starting by their order of release (but probably their remakes instead of the original versions.)
Any game I should start with?
