Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying this years E3, and welcome to my review and discussion of Sony's conference! All weekend I've been watching everyone's presentations, not exactly sure what to expect. Some of them have been disappointing, others have been surprisingly good. I knew going into Sony's conference that they would be focusing of four games in particular, so I wasn't that excited about it, but now after actually seeing what they've been working on I'm blown away. Not only did they give us in depth looks at the four games they already mentioned, but some other announcements were made, one of them being the highlight of the entire event for me.

To get things started The Last Of Us Part 2 was showcased, and we finally got a good look at the gameplay. First of all, every game that Sony showed us tonight looked incredible, some next level stuff, and The Last Of Us 2 was no exception. If you've played the first game then you should already know what kind of game this will be, a gritty, graphic, dramatic, action game. It started with Ellie talking to some guy at, what looked to be a party of some kind, when a girl came over and you could easily tell this must be Ellie's love interest. The two of them started to talk, and we went into a flashback of Ellie in a survival situation.

This is where we got the first look at actual gameplay, and it was amazing. The updated stealth mechanics were easy to spot, as Ellie crouched through tall grass, and slipped between cars, sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies. You see her quietly take a couple guys out with her bow, until she gets spotted and has to run for it. The urban landscape, overgrown with vegetation made for an impressive backdrop, as she brutally engaged in combat against her pursuers. Everything about this looked incredible, and you can tell major improvements have been made since the original. I can't wait to play this, but I'm not sure when we will actually get it.

Sucker Punch was up next, showing us the first look at gameplay footage from their new IP, Ghosts Of Tsushima. I didn't know much about this going into the conference, but after seeing that amazing demo I can't wait to play this. Taking place in Japan, in the year 1274, you play as powerful samurai, Jin Sakai, battling against the Mongol invasion. The combat looked tight, and fast paced, with some awesome animations that were very impressive. Even more impressive was the beautiful setting and scenery. Every frame of this game was just overflowing with color, and light, giving the whole thing a cinematic tone. It's been a long time since I've played a good samurai game, and this one is going to be a day one purchase for me.

Death-Stranding norman.jpg

Hideo Kojima is a legendary game developer, and now that he has his own studio everyone is dying to see what he comes out with next. Death Stranding has been known about for awhile now, but even though we've heard a lot about it, we still don't know what it is. Tonight we finally got to see what looked like actual gameplay footage, and it looked very interesting. It didn't really answer any of my questions, but now I feel like I have some idea of what to expect from this mysterious title.

The character that you will be playing as is none other than Norman Reedus from the Walking Dead. We got to see him traveling through a bunch of different terrains, as he carries various packages up mountains, and through rivers. Two new female characters were introduced as well, but who they are, and what role they play in the game is still unknown. At one point we see our character trying to sneak past some invisible creatures, using a device that is somehow connected to a baby. Everything about this is strange, but knowing Kojima, it will all come together to make an amazing game.

To close out the show Sony showed off the newest Spider Man game from Insomniac Studios, that is coming out soon, September 7th, 2018. This game looks fantastic, and as a big Spider Man fan it was great to see some of the villains in this presentation. We got to see a scene where Electro releases all the inmates from a prison, as Spider Man tries to control the situation. The combat looks very fluid, and kind of similar to the Arkham Batman games, with a diverse set of options for taking down enemies.

Some of the suits powers were unveiled, as well as a fantastic look at the beautiful open world environment. Slinging your web from building to building, making your way around New York City, looks effortless and smooth. Everything they showed from the four big games that were presented looked so impressive, and at least this one's only a few months away. But on top of those, even more games were slipped into this conference. One was a game from the creators of Rick and Morty, Kingdom Hearts 3 was shown again, NIOH 2 was announced, and so was Remedy's next game called, Control.

Remedy makes some fantastic games, Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and now Control. Not much information was given about this one, only a short teaser trailer. What was shown looked to be a very abstract and stylish, 3rd person shooter game of some kind. It featured an environment that morphed, and changed shape around you, and the protagonist also had some telekinetic powers. I'm sure this is still a ways away from coming out, but hopefully we will learn more about it soon.

This right here was the highlight of the entire event for me. There were three games I was hoping to see at E3 this year, Bloodborne 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Resident Evil 2 Remake. I thought I was out of luck, with none of these being presented, but then, out of nowhere they dropped the first look we have had since it's announcement 2 years ago, the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

They showed the new character models for Leon and Claire, as well as a zombie, and some familiar sights around Raccoon City. This will apparently be in the same style as Resident Evil 4, with a 3rd person perspective, which I'm fine with because it looks like Capcom really nailed it, and have developed a quality experience here. I'm so happy this is coming along so well, and we even got a release date, January 25th, 2019.

This is exactly the type of conference I look forward to at E3. Seeing a flashy sizzle reel of upcoming games is great, but it's hard to get excited about something without actually seeing any gameplay, or getting any insight into what it's all about. That's what Sony got right here, giving us in depth looks at some titles that a lot of people were unsure of, and after getting a closer look, I'm more excited than ever about all of the games that were presented. The other surprises were just the icing on the cake, making this, by far, my favorite conference this year. What did you think about what Sony showed us tonight? Did it meet your expectations, or were you a little disappointed? Feel free to let me know in the comments, and have a great day. I'm going to give Sony's E3 2018 Conference a grade of...……………………..

Never got around to sit down and watch E3 2018 'cause of school and other stuff, but u just made my day by giving a look at what Sony showcased and I am totally stumped by all those titles. Thanks a lot.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Such an exciting time of year!

I know. Recently got into gaming news but when I discovered Anthem it had a link to the E3 and that's when I got it's revelation and I had been waiting all year to watch it.
