Hey now everybody, hope you're all having a great day, and welcome to my list of top 5 favorite games from this years E3 Event! Every year I look forward to the month of June so I can see all the latest titles from the biggest developers as they show off the goods at E3. There were some specific games I was hoping to see this year, and although not all of them were present, there was still plenty of incredible ones that I'm looking forward to. Microsoft really stepped it up, showcasing 50 games, a bunch of new exclusives, and some world premieres. Sony had an unusual presentation, but nonetheless gave us in depth looks at some of their biggest upcoming titles, as well as some surprise announcements. E3 2018 was quite an event, but now let's talk about the games I'm most excited to play.

Spiderman PS4

Comic book characters seem like they would translate very well into videogames, but for some reason developers just can't seem to get it right. The Batman Arkham series is the only one that found a winning formula, releasing one good game after another. Spiderman on the other hand has not had such a good track record. The only good one that comes to mind is Spiderman 2 that came out during the PlayStation 2, Gamecube, Xbox era, and even that had it's problems.

Still, the mechanics of swinging around New York City were the best they had ever been, and since then nobody has been able to replicate it the same way. Now with developers Insomniac at the helm of this latest entry, it seems as though they captured the same magic, and made several improvements to the combat and visuals. With the release of this game right around the corner it was great to get a better look at what it has to offer, and in a couple months we will get to play it for ourselves.

SEKIRO: Shadows Die Twice

During Microsoft's lengthy presentation, one of the many games they showed was the latest creation of FromSoftware, the development team that gave us such wonderful games Dark Souls, and Bloodborne. I had my fingers crossed that this was going to be Bloodborne 2, but after seeing what SEKIRO is all about I'm ok with them doing something new. The trailer gave us a look at the protagonist, the setting, some different enemy types, and a little taste of the combat system.

Although this looks similar to a Souls game it has many differences that I'm excited to learn more about. There will be no character creator, something that has been in every Dark Souls game. You will not only be able to jump, but will also have a grappling hook device for traveling vertically, or across large gaps. And supposedly the game world will be one large interconnecting environment, similar to the first Dark Souls game, giving us a non linear experience. This looks amazing, but we'll have to wait a little while to see it firsthand.

Devil May Cry 5

Capcom's Devil May Cry series is one that I have a love, hate relationship with. Some of the games in the series are absolutely amazing experiences that I remember fondly, and others are just terrible. With such a spotty track record it's hard to predict what kind of game this new one will be, but from what was shown at the Microsoft conference it looks as though Capcom has got the franchise back where it needs to be.

They said this is the first Devil May Cry that they have made just for the fans, giving us all the things that we've been asking for over the years. From what was shown in the trailer it looks like we can expect some fast paced, over the top action, with characters that are full of personality, and quippy one liners. Devil May Cry 4 was released 10 years ago now, believe it or not, so it would be so awesome if this sequel delivers what the fans are hoping for. Fingers crossed this turns out to be the best one yet.

Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that I've been heavily anticipating for a very long time now. It's made by developers, CD Project Red, the people that gave us the incredible Witcher 3, but this game looks to be a huge departure from what we got there. This takes place in a dystopian future setting, specifically the sprawling metropolis of Night City. It has a very interesting look to it, almost reminiscent of the film Blade Runner.

It will be played from a first person perspective, and will rely heavily on gunplay mechanics, and the use of high tech gadgets. There will be an active day/night cycle, as well as dynamic weather patterns. Knowing CD Project Red I think we can also expect a few things from Cyberpunk 2077, deep RPG mechanics, a world full of stories to discover, loads of interesting characters, and lots of gritty, realistic, mature themes. I have no doubt that this game will blow everyone away, and become another huge hit for this team. It can't arrive soon enough though, but I guess we'll just have to wait.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Resident Evil has been one of my favorite game franchises since I was a kid, and it sparked my ongoing love for survival horror. Over the years the series has undergone some drastic changes, drifting further and further away from the atmospheric exploration games of the past, to an all out action shooter. Luckily Capcom has brought it back to it's horror roots again recently, and a few years ago announced the long awaited remake of the second game. Nothing was heard about this project since then, and I was starting to worry it was having development problems of some kind.

Then finally, during Sony's conference, the trailer that I'd been waiting patiently for dropped, and I couldn't be happier to see what they've done here. It looks like they went with the third person perspective, similar to Resident Evil 4, and have completely overhauled the graphics, making Raccoon City look better than ever before. This was my personal highlight of the entire E3 2018, and this easily makes my number one spot of most anticipated game.

So many amazing new titles were shown this year making it hard to choose just 5 for this list. There were a lot of games I wanted to talk about, but these are just the ones that were my personal favorites. I could have definitely included, The Last Of Us Part Two, Ghosts Of Tsushima, Rage 2, Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6, Dying Light 2, Metro Exodus, and more, but that would just be way too big of a list. I suppose that's a good thing, having too many amazing games to look forward to. It's such an incredible time to be a gamer, there's something out there for everyone, and it keeps getting better every generation. These are only my favorite games of E3 2018, what were yours? Feel free to let me know down in the comments, and have a great day.

Thanks for checking out my list of Top 5 Games Of E3 2018, I hope you enjoyed it!

You totally picked the games I was anticipating the most from my mind. First off was Spiderman, it looks so empowering like you're the web-slinging dude himself despite it being in Third Person Perspective. On the list u made above all the games I thought were the best are up there, though I hadn't seen the trailer of Sekiro yet but it seems promising. My other favorites were Ghosts Of Tsushima and Jump Force. Once again u have opened my eyes to more games. Thanks men and keep it up.

That's awesome, thank you so much!

Thanks for the support, I'm glad you liked it!

Dude i'm so hyped about Sekiro! If what we got from FROMSOFTWARE when they departed from the Souls formula was Bloodborne, I can't even imagine what they can do with this experience and knowledge they now possess. This E3 was really really good.

Great post btw!
