I've just finished playing Danganronpa 2 last night. I gotta say, this game is really something else as the plot twist at the end just blew away my mind multiple times.
This review may contain spoilers. You have been warned!
Danganronpa 2 is a visual novel, psychological horror murder mystery game where a group of high school students were trapped on an island where the only way to escape is to commit a murder without being found out by other students.
The game is split into multiple chapters where in each chapter, the antagonist will give the students a motive to commit the murder. One of the example motive is that the students were starved to death unless a murder occurs.
Once a body has been found dead, the students were given time to investigate the area for any clues that might be related to the murder. After that, a class trial will occur. Class trial is one of the styles of gameplay in Danganronpa series where debates & argument will happen between the surviving students to weed out the person that committed the murder. If the killer was found during the class trial, then he/she will be punished (killed) by the antagonist. Otherwise the killer will be allowed to escape the island while the others will be punished (killed) instead.
What I Liked About The Game
- Character development. The game has one of the best character development I've seen in video games recently. When I first started the game, I hated one of the characters so much that I couldn't bear to continue playing the game. But thanks to @tadstrange for his spoiler free hint, I decided to continue playing the game. @tadstrange said to me that "the game was designed so that you would hate him in the beginning, but if you finish playing the game, you will like him". Boy, he wasn't joking when he said that. By the end of the game, the character that I've hated so much turns out to be one of the best characters in game. And also, the character's personality is so developed that at once you found out that they are the murderer, you don't want to believe that they are the murderer even after the game had already revealed that they've committed the murder. It was just so good!
What I Disliked About The Game
- Mini games. Ugh, the class trial's mini games is one of the worst I've played. If it wasn't for the story, I would have raged quit. Some of the mini games requires you to do quick time events while thinking for the evidence to counter your opponent, which is near impossible for me who's bad at multitasking!
TL;DR
My rating for the game: 9/10.
If you're a fan of murder mystery, get it!
If you're not a fan of murder mystery, then the game is not for you.

I think the minigames for DR V3 are more well honed aside from the Hangman's Gambit game (Due to localisation making things weird). Now, it is time for you to watch the anime :D
Yeah I'm gonna watch that before I go on with V3. Thanks again for the spoiler free hint! Really appreciate that. I managed to complete the game because of that!
