While Black Ops 3 was a stretch, I "kind of" enjoyed it like most hard core COD fans.
Advanced Warfare really was a shot to the gut. But after the back lash of complaints by 99% of the COD fans, I figured Black Ops 3 would kick ass. To my surprise, it did not. While far better than Advanced Warfare, it just never felt the same after Black Ops 2.
Then comes Infinite Warfare. What a Joke! Another game where players are bouncing around like ping pong balls, with lust lacking special moves. Weapons that were so far fetched aliens themselves could not have came up with such trash.
The follow sequence occurred with my gaming habits over the years.
First time playing online----Black Ops (PS3) On Release
Moving into ----MW3 (PS3) On Release
Black Ops 2 (PS3) On Release
Advance Warfare (PS3) On Release
Black Ops 3 (PS3) On Release----------For 2 days.
First Ever PS4 Black Ops 3 Edition
Infinite Warfare/ Call Of Duty (PS4) Played for 2 weeks and grew bored with it.
I found that my PS4 was sitting under my TV collecting dust while I was enjoying more of the games I loved back in the day.
Crash Bandicoot (PS1/PS2) I have both, but my FAT will play 1&2 so my PS1 is in my dresser drawer in cherry condition.
I recently purchased another N64 with (So Far) Mario World 64 and Mario Party 1.
I thought I would be sad when I packed up my PS4 and ship it to it's new owner, yet to my surprise, I was relieved. Knowing I had a $400.00 system, with one $70 game and another $90 game just sitting their was really weighing on me BIG TIME. I find that I no longer have a urge to play the newest games. Now I urge to build my retro collection back up on N64, PS1/2 and maybe even some Wii.
Is it just me, or have others felt the same way towards the newer games vs the old? Maybe I am crazy, but going backwards seems to make me enjoy gaming again after I lost the online experience I used to have with COD.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to get others feed back on your retro platform choices. !
