I won't mention what game I'm thinking of specifically, but there are so many games that throw "blockchain" into the mix just to fuel hype. Blockchain based NFTs have a lot of potential, but so often they're misused.
I love how Splinterlands does things. The card fusion is great. It reduces the issue of bulk cards that would otherwise flood the market. Moreover, card fusion does more than make it pretty. Being able to level up cards gives a real solid reason to actually do it.
Even the foil system that Splinterlands employs is superior to most games. Being able to earn more DEC for gold cards means that the gold cards have more value, not just because they're rarer and fancier, but because they actually do more.
Perhaps I shouldn't say anything, because if developers take this kind of advice, Splinterlands will have more competition, but honestly, I really want to see more quality games out there, which don't just try to abuse its users with FOMO and hype.
I have been playing around with crypto since 2018. I can agree with you when it comes to blockchain games. Splinterlands has stepped up the criterion of choices.
It is getting difficult to find as good game or better one.
