Sony has confirmed that, although the PlayStation 4 is reaching the end of its useful life, the next generation of the console will not arrive until 2021.
Although the past mentioned that the PlayStation 5 would be available by 2020, John Kodera, the head of Sony PlayStation, has added another year to the countdown because in an interview with The Wall Street Journal has revealed that there are still three years to go the launch of the new videogame console:
We will use the next three years to prepare the next step, to bend down so we can jump higher in the future.
Since its launch in 2013, the PS4 has sold more than 70 million consoles around the world, according to the numbers released by Sony and apparently will be the company's flagship console for a while longer. You can watch the trailer of its launch here.
