It has been a while!
The last couple of months, most of the gaming we did was Ark: Survival Evolved. We'd play it off and on, a few moments a week. Sometimes, not at all. My boyfriend would do some other gaming when he had the time, but me, I hardly did anything of the sort. I had a Steemit and Netflix period. However, this weekend was filled with games!
A few days ago, I told you about the games we got during a Steam sale. One of those games was Skyrim: Special Edition. I wanted the game so I would have the chance to play it again some day. That some day was saturday.
My boyfriend was excited to see the graphics on my pc and me? I was just excited to play Skyrim again! It had been many years since I last played.
I will show you more screenshots in a future post, but this is to show what the graphics look like on my pc. I'm very impressed to be honest! The game still looks really amazing. I'm not sure what exactly the Special Edition of the game involves. I think it holds some mods/addons and extra quests.
Anyway, I spend most of saturday playing Skyrim, except for the evening. In the evening I watched The Voice finale and my boyfriend's best friend came over.
I also spend sunday evening playing Skyrim (I wanted to finish my goal of buying my first house), but the rest of sunday was spend playing Ark!
My boyfriend wanted to play a bit and I joined him. Actually, we're playing on my saved game, so I had little choice in the matter either way. I did enjoy playing Ark for a while aswell, even though Skyrim was still on my mind. Ark allows me to go afking for a while, which allowed me to do some steeming aswell. I always try to spend some of my day on Steemit too.
(My boyfriend's Ark character's awesome viking hairdo.)
We build a tower to get to our tree sap tap in the forest a little ways away from the lighthouse. Well, my boyfriend build while I chopped wood. We also added some new sheep to our collection and we finally managed to bake two(!) cakes to tame sheep. So now two of the sheep in our pen are actually ours. The others are still wild ones.
Anyway, I'm writing this post early in the morning at a time where I'd usually sit next to the woodstove watching Netflix. I don't feel like doing that right now, so here I am on the pc with a blanket.
To be honest, I wanted to be sure I got a post out early, so I'm able to do lots of gaming later today. I already cleaned the kitchen aswell and laundry is basically the only thing I still have to do and I even started that already. Just gotta wait for the machine to finish.
Yeah, I think I'll play some Skyrim today...

Some people says video games rot your brain but i think they worked different muscles that maybe you dont normally use it, just play have fun and enjoy the game....
stay blessed and keep posting...
Ooh so that's what that smell is!
Some say video games are bad, some say they teach us many things and are actually great brain trainers. Either way, they can't stop me playing the games I like :-)
Thank you very much for your comment. Hope you have a good day!
pleasure is always mine!!!!
and thanks for your kind words...
Don't know if you did but there are some awesome mods for skyrim that make the game have even better graphics, you should try it, there is one that i liked very much i think which improved the layout of the cities, made the cities have more vegetation, even the small cities that required no load screen.
The game is really cool, i already played through it twice, the second time i had the game heavy modded and it was so much better.
I even had a mod that started playing the attack on titan song when i fought against giants xD
I never really checked out mods so far. The special edition already holds many improvements, so I couldn't really be bothered to look into it yet. Maybe some day!
From what i've seen the mods in the normal edition make better improvements than the special edition... Still the gameplay in Skyrim is what's important
We also had a gaming weekend :D Thanks to your post about Steam discounts, we bought some games, and now we don't know what to play before (CS:GO, Portal 2, 7 Days to Die). Well, we played the Warframe a lot, which is a free game (I suck at CS:GO, 7 Days to Die is shitty Ark from zombie apocalypse and boyfriend was too ill to think in Portal 2, but he still was better than me when we tried to play it). And of course I had to find time for KCD, and then the Mafia will follow. It's madness! It's a shame I have to go to work.
When I played Skyrim, I played as a Khajiit. Humans are in every RPG. I always need something special! :D But your boyfriend's Viking looks really good!
Ooh good to hear you also had a gaming weekend! Portal 2 is actually a game my boyfriend bought me when we just met online and before he became my boyfriend. It was such a fun game to play through together, but he was so much better at it than I was :D
I tend to skip on playing humans aswell. I usually go for some kind of elf if they look good enough :D
You are the second couple who met thanks to games I met on Steemit :D
We were game addicted all weekend, but at least we've tried our new headsets. However, at the Portal, I feel like an idiot (I'm glad that I'm not alone :D), and I don't know when I'll have an opportunity to save my reputation because my boyfriend is sick and has a teeth problem, so now we're about to play Warframe or some other game we can play without thinking.
The elves are also everywhere :P
Yea that moment you just want to get to next stage or unlock a new character, just have to play and play untill you archieve it, Hoping to see more screenshots later
Haha exactly! Just have to keep on playing :D
I'll definitely share more Skyrim screenshots later. I just have to remember to take them inbetween getting distracted everywhere. It feels just like years ago... "Ooooh what's around this corner?"
I remember back then when I used to play different video games and it's too bad that I got lazy with it. But hey, it's never too late to get back with that, and graphics is one of the factors in gaming, I'm not really into the s***y one ( sorry for the cursing) because it hurts my eyes, really.
Never too late to get back into it indeed! Yeah, I do prefer good graphics in games. There are only a few games where I don't care that the graphics aren't the greatest. Other than that, I want to see pretty things :D
Damn, that made me feel like re-visiting Skyrim - it's been AGES!
Good stuff mate, upvoted and followed :)
Thank you! Glad it brought back a little nostalgic feeling for you :D
Hey fellow gamer! I think I might play some Skyrim tonight now after reading this. I'll get back into it more once I finish a few more indie titles though. Skyrim is always one of those games I could go back to in a heartbeat and ARK.. I have a love/hate relationship with lol.
I personally would have to recommend getting some mods to spice up Skyrim. Simple user interface mods, texture and water enhancements, performance upgrades, and plenty of other nice little additions will go a long way. On the other hand, you could always go crazy with some of the mods but long term it might ruin the fun of the game. I prefer to be immersed in the game and adding more lore, more places to visit, and other upgrades kept me on foot for much longer rather than fast traveling everywhere. Enjoy your travels in Skyrim!
Hi there! A love/hate relationship with Ark huh? How come?
I'm a bit reluctant to add mods to Skyrim, because I mostly just want to play the game for what it is. Maybe I could check out some UI mods though. I wouldn't want to add crazy mods that change too much about the game.
What other games are you currently playing?
Well it's a long story, but let's just say I had a pretty looong relationship with ARK, decided to see other people, and now I check in from time to time lol. Lately though, I have been missing the ability to be an ARK-tect in game, the friends, and experiences. I'll be doing a post on it soon and I see you followed, (Thanks!) so keep an eye out for that post when it pops up.
Totally agree with you on playing Skyrim for what it is, add some UI tweaks and graphic touch-ups and you'll be set without impacting anything.
Currently I'm playing some.. P.U.B.G., Sims 4, (to feed my creative side in lack of ARK?)
Fable Anniversary Edition, (Amazing Classic) and have also gone back to the Bioshock games.
I'll also be picking up Pinstripe. After reading a review from @gamingstation I was convinced that I had to grab this great looking indie game.
I hope I'll notice the Ark post, though I have to admit I have a hard time keeping up with my feed on most days. Did you play Ark on public servers or in a private instance?
Yesterday while playing Skyrim, I got really annoyed by how hard it was to see if I successfully hit a target with my Soul Trap spell. I think I should google for a mod that somehow makes this more clear...
Ooh I would love to play Sims 4! It's just that it's very expensive, especially with all of the extra expansions. I used to download the previous ones illegally, but that's just way more effort than I want to put into it. I have the Sims 2 for free, but it can't keep me occupied long enough. Still, Sims are lovely games to play!
I have Fable Anniversary Edition actually! Tried playing it once, but I couldn't find one of the first items for a quest right at the start, had to have dinner soon after and never started it back up again. I do still want to play it some day though... Once I'm bored and have no other games I want to play...
Pinstripe huh? It looks like a cute little game :D
All good! I played on official servers, managed to become Alpha on a Day1 server and rode that train until they turned official servers to "Legacy" on the Xbox.. what a trip..
As for the Sims 4, you're in luck, there's a sale going on today you might want to look into on the base game/some of the dlc,
EA is getting the best of me.. getting money for the Xbox version and the PC -_-
Fable is a must, definitely worth going back to and it really helped set a precedent for the whole "you're actions have consequences" aspect of choosing your good/bad choices in video games.
Hmm.. I think its time to play some Sims..
Hmm I tried playing public servers once or twice, but it wasn't for me. There were just many big, ugly buildings which were hard to get around. I love the surrounding in Ark, so these big, ugly walls everywhere kind of ruined the experience for me. I'm much happier in my own, private game which I host so my boyfriend can join :-)
Oh bah, even with a sale for the Sims, I still wouldn't go for it. Not unless it's all expansions. I just know I wouldn't want to play the game without them. Oh well, maybe in a few years ;-)
Fable definitely seemed like a fun game to play. It was just bad timing for me I guess. It's still on my todo list to revisit it some day. It's just that I keep switching between other games. Guild Wars 2 sometimes beckons me, Ark often pulls me back in, HoMM4 is looking at me from my desktop, begging me to play it again soon... and now Skyrim!
Ugh, so many games!
Oh skyrim.... so much love for that game, I'm intentionally keeping it at bay because i don't think id get a damn thing done in the real world- but my brithday is coming up.... hmmmm ;)
Ooooh options....
Yeah, that's why I'm now doing chores and Steemit in the morning, before I even start the game. Have to make sure I get my real world stuff done aswell ;-)
Long ago my brother showed me this game, I never advance it enough but I liked the graphics and how extremely free it was. Maybe I'll play it when I have free time.
It's such an awesome game where you get distracted all the time by wanting to see where every little path leads. It also looks beautiful. I hope you get the chance to check it out again one day :-)
good post,,,, very nice photography,,
my dear @playfulfoodie..
It smells nostalgic...
Wow excellent post, i want to wait your post next time
