NB. I have no problem with the term "girl gamer", actually I love it, and love to have female persons in multiplayer teams. It is... something metaphysical. I don’t know how to describe it in words, but indeed, most of the players in shooter games are men, young people, and encountering a girl in these crowds feels like a rare avis.

Yeah I get how the term started, cos it's male-dominated environment. But ugh there really are a lot of toxic people out there once they found out you're a girl... I just wish it wouldn't be a big deal. I mean it might be amazing for some but those feelings make you expect either a lot from us (to be really good) or none at all. The treatment changes once the gender is known and I wish it wasn't the case.
