Hello, gamers of Steemit! FPS are one of the most played game genres in the world, whether it is Counter Strike, DOOM, Overwatch, etc. In this post, i'll be listing 10 of my favourite FPS games!

10. Quake

One of the earliest first person shooters, Quake deserves to be on this list. Launched in 1996, it is one of the most known first person shooters to the day. I have played it multiple times on my Raspberry Pi, and it runs pretty smoothly, considering the low specs of the device. The game is fun, and really makes me nostalgic.

9. Left 4 Dead 2

This one i bought on a discount on Steam, and oh boy, i'm glad i did. The game is set during the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, and there are 4 playable characters. You must fight your way through five campaigns, with using safe houses as checkpoints. I really liked that game, and i recommend people who love zombie-themed FPSes try this one out.

8. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a FPS developed by Infinity Ward and published my Activision. It is the fourth game in the CoD series. The game takes place in 2011, during a fictional civil war in Russia.

7. BioShock

BioShock is a game set in 1960, after the protagonist named Jack crashes his plane near the bathysphere terminus that leads to the underwater city of Rapture. It is considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time.

6. Halo 4

Halo 4 takes place in the year 2557, four years after the events of Halo 3. You play as Master Chief, a cybernetically-enhanced supersoldier. The game was the third most sold video game in 2012, having 5.57 million copies sold in North America alone.

5. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Now this is the game everyone knows. CS:GO is the Holy Grail of FPS games. The team-based shooter, which is a successor to CS 1.6, has sold over 25 million game copies on Steam, and i can see why. It is a really addicting game, with a variety of maps and servers to play on.

4. Half-Life 2

Similar to its predecessor, Half-Life 2 is a alien-themed first person shooter game. It starts about twenty years following the first game. The game now uses the Source engine, means that the graphics are much better than in the first game. A must-play, if you ask me.

3. Half-Life

Coming up next is Half-Life. This is probably one of the most difficult puzzle FPS games i have ever played. You play as Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist who is involved in an experiment that accidentally creates a dimensional rift to a trans-dimensional world called Xen, causing extraterrestrial life to swarm the facility and kill the survivors. You probably know this game because of the "Half-Life 3" memes. Also did you notice how Half-Life is No. 3 on my list?

2. Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2 is one of my favorite games. The multiple game modes, the ridiculous collection of hats, and the comical characters makes it one of the most enjoyable first person shooters to play. Also, it is Free-To-Play, so that's also a bonus.

1. Counter Strike 1.6

Now, this deserves to be on the top of the list. CS 1.6 is an iconic game in the FPS genre, that every gamer should of. Sure, CS:GO has better graphics, but the gameplay is what matters. Also, anyone remembers wall-banging?

Do you agree with my list? Please leave a comment, suggesting what topic i should write about in the next part!

Top 10 movies that should have won an oscar, but didn't!

The only caveat I have is when some jerk hangs out on the ladder and makes it so you can't climb up in L4D2. Or maybe that was the first one? Is that still a thing in the sequel?

That being said - excellent games. Spent a lot of time in Quake. The newer ones are alright, but nothing beats the original IMO.
