The first game of the series was a decent effort to make a horror game in the veins of Resident Evil 4, however at some point it tipped over and fell crashing down before it could fully realize it's inspiration. With Evil Within 2, the team decided to to keep chasing Resident Evil 4, while at the same time have the open world structural aspects of another horror great - Silent Hill but this time they managed to go all the way.
