FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE

in #gaming7 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemit Users,

I am writing this blog because I love this franchise from Square-Enix. Their recent announcements about Final Fantasy VII Remake blows me away. This game got the most requests in the past for next-gen remake. Since it was announced as Tech Demo in 2005, fans was hoping for it to be released, finally it is happening!

I saw this Tech Demo trailer way before YouTube was a thing. I can't remember how I know about it, either I know about it through Limewire or various JRPGs website or fan sites for Final Fantasy. I got the high quality version from GameTrailer website but now sold to IGN Entertainment. I downloaded the trailer when I was still using dial-up connection. Back in the days 70mb+ was such a huge file compare to now days, it took me 3 hours or something to get a file downloaded with that size. I waited for it to be downloaded and it was worth it. It blew my mind.

The same year, I knew about Kingdom Hearts II and Final Fantasy Versus XIII (now known as Final Fantasy XV). PS3 era was huge, realistic graphics was a big thing. We thought at that time, we are going to receive Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS3 but Square-Enix just kept quite about it for a long time, I would say 10+ years. Square-Enix/Square Soft was almost at loss because this movie Final Fantasy The Spirits Within didn't break the box office to cover their budget. After Kingdom Hearts released they manage to cover their loss within 2 years. Then Square-Enix focused on Kingdom Hearts series instead. I know about Kingdom Hearts through Gempak Magazine in the year 2002, I was surprise to see Final Fantasy having a crossover with Disney characters. My dad bought me a PS2 and in my mind the game I wanted to owned is Kingdom Hearts, so badly. I started playing RPG games properly since the year 1999, Pokemon and Digimon was the first few RPG games I played but Final Fantasy IX was the bomb when my mom bought me PS1. Then I was hook to play other Final Fantasy series such as IV, V, VI, VII, VIII. Then Chrono Trigger and Suikoden series. Since then I was an RPG fan.

In 2014, Square-Enix trolled everybody about Final Fantasy VII being on PS4, actually being that same old Final Fantasy VII on PS1 just upscale to HD, everybody was bumped and disappointed. In 2015, E3 suddenly showcases a Square-Enix game, which is Remake of Final Fantasy VII, everybody was happy!

It won E3 as the most anticipated all video games remake. Just because of Final Fantasy VII Remake, many classic video games follow to had their own remake, remake into such good-looking high definition modelling to texturing and so on. Everyone was hoping this to be a thing. Square-Enix finally made it. The remake gameplay wasn't turn-based RPG, probably active-turn-based-gambit-system like Final Fantasy XII or similar like Kingdom Hearts.

Nonetheless, I want to see Final Fantasy VII Remake to be released. At the moment Final Fantasy VII Remake won't be release anytime soon, because Kingdom Hearts III is their main focus, it will be release worldwide this 29th January 2019. Once that is done, we all get to play Final Fantasy VII Remake. I heard rumour that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be episodic. I don't know what it means, maybe DLC episodic. Either way, I am hoping for that episodic contents to be a massive Final Fantasy VII compilation, which you can play from Before Crisis, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus and of course the original title Final Fantasy VII. As well I wanted to see, Advent Children Complete, Last Order, On a Way to Smile and the novel Lateral Biography: Turks ~The Kids Are Alright~ in the compilation. So then we know that this Remake is worth by miles. It is not just a remake but a full story telling experience from prequel to sequel. I want it to be COMPLETE. Many people missed these side franchise of Final Fantasy VII series. To get people hook on it, Square-Enix better compile all of these into one.

Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

Last Order: Final Fantasy VII

Final Fantasy VII - On the Way to a Smile

Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children

You can read more about Final Fantasy VII Compilation here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compilation_of_Final_Fantasy_VII

In conclusion, as an RPG gamer fan, this is big news. I hope we could see Final Fantasy VIII and IX Remake. We already see Final Fantasy XII as Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, a HD remastered, major retouched and fixes of the old PS2 release. That's all for now and thanks for reading! I love you all, xoxo!

Cheers,
Shazet

Great articles! I too love most of the games and their story from Square Enix.

It Is great to witness how Square Enix can able to acheive this far and try their best not to let the fans down too.

I wonder when the next official news update will be on its development. Since E3, there hasn't been much news at all.
