i often hear this a lot when people talk about PC gaming. And i happen to know a bit about this subject. I play a lot of video games on the PC and i myself used to be very new to the PC gaming world and i didn't really know what part in a computer does what. After doing a lot of research this is what i have come to find about the importance of the CPU in computer systems.
BUT DOES THE CPU MATTER IN GAMING??
The answer is yes and no. There is a thing called bottle necking in the PC gaming community, this is a thing in basic terms when the CPU cannot keep up when the graphics card. The graphics card of a computer does most of the hard lifting when it comes to gaming but if the CPU cannot keep up then it will limit your graphics cards potential so you do not need a really expensive CPU but you might want to consider getting a decent CPU if you want to get a good graphics card.
