It has been a long time coming, ever since breadcrumbs went the way of the dodo bird. players have been asking, "what do we earn for battling in the arena?"
Well 1st off you have to battle in the Arena to unlock your 2nd & 3rd Hero slots.
Today we managed to get the 1st version of our new Reward Bot up and running.
Here is what you will see on your posts.
Now I know you have many questions. I will answer a few here.
1) Will it only upvote posts? what about comments? I don't post and I don't want to.
A: Currently we only upvote posts. However we are working on having the Reward Bot upvote comments only on the Holybread account. Our goal is to NOT spam the blockchain with upvotes on comments. Instead we will do a weekly LEADERBOARD post talking about players climbing / falling etc...
If you comment on that post you will receive your upvote.
2) The Holybread account doesn't have much voting power. Why should I bother? What is your plan to increase this?
A: I still have 1500 Hive worth of SP that I am powering down. This will be added to the Holybread account. We want it to be as large as you do!
We will never power down any HP the account earns. Also we are going to take a % of the earnings from any EVENTS we run to power it up.
We are still working on the exact amount but our goal is to have 50K upvote power ASAP.
3) Why this type of reward? Why not a token on Hive-Engine(HE)?
A: We feel this type of reward is more in-line with the Hive Blockchain and rewards players with tangible HP/HBD that they can do what they want with. We also don't like the % HE takes from moving Hive in/out. We feel this is a tax on our players for no reason.
We have other things in the works on this topic but can't talk about them right now.
4)Is this the only reward?Why am I even battling?
A: Currently this is our only out-game reward. Or as we call it a Layer 1 reward. We are working on additional in-game rewards.
5) How can I see what my pending Upvote is? How big is an upvote for my rank?
A: We are monitoring the Reward Bot / Voting power / etc... We plan on making sure we don't have to adjust the math before revealing any of this.
So our roadmap for the reward bot is to add additional functionality,
- upvote comments on Holybread posts
- allow players to run the LEADERBOARD API and see what rank they are
- allow players to see pending upvote
- other things we can think of
As some of you may have read. We are aggressively working on the SEASON 1 server and it will have its own Reward Bot's. So you can play the Main Holybread world & the Season world, if you are high enough you can earn Upvote rewards on each world.

Why not upvote comments everywhere if the user doesn't post but not make the comment, its not that helpful.
in the past upvote commenting across the blockchain has been frowned upon. We are trying to not make waves within the larger blockchain community.
Of course like anything we can readdress if its an issue.

What is the leader board limit to be upvoted?
Also, about comments, if you do not comment back but just cast a vote you will normally not have problem upvoting any comment. The problem from other projects is that they made their ads by answering the comment they voted. right ?
500 is the leaderboard upvote limit, the higher the bigger the upvote.
I will look into what the other projects had issues with and we will make a decision.

You have to battle every 72 hours to stay active on the Leaderboard.
If you are not active, you become active when you battle.

I am hopeful as the game get more player and transactions, other form of rewards will be also added.
It will good, that bot will upvote only when cumulative vote value is of 4 cents, not a fan of 2 cents upvote as Hive price is also volatile,
That is the goal.
This is just the 1st step.

I am a little interested as to how the rankings work. Currently, I'm in the 450ish range and the bot said "Congrats you are rank 121" o.O That doesn't seem right to me.
So the ranking on the website is your arena rank of 450. Only players that have battled in the Arena in the last 72 Hours qualify for the LEADERBOARD.
So you are rank 121 on the Leaderboard.
We are working on a page were you can see your leaderboard rank.
So if you are not active, you don't earn upvotes during that time but once you are active you will.
I am not used to post, upvote or that kind of stuff, only play games so i hope this wont be to complicated to do ;P

Seeing this "upvote rewards" finally come to fruition is exciting. I love that the game is giving players a way to have fun, find items, sell items, strive to rank higher on the leaderboard and at the same time staying true to promoting the Hive Blockchain.
The idea of taking an in-game hero into the tavern and using a beer token to battle is awesome. Not only is this FUN, but it also introduces Holybread players to Beer Tokens. This is going to be fun seeing all of your ideas come to life.

Sorry that it is a bit negative in my comment, but receiving rewards through a vote for posting or commenting is not to my liking, I in particular became anonymous for some time now and I am not interested in commenting so once a month ... on the other hand taking the experience of steem monster there were players who were active in the game and had never used the steemit platform to post or comment and thus win something for playing ... steem monster opened the possibility of winning crystals because the game was dying, the market for card sales was almost paralyzed and the interest in fighting had been lost ... if they do not take this as an example over time this will only be a game for those who publish on hive and not you will have a growth out of that ... for now I am waiting, if there is no token to receive unfortunately I will have to withdraw from this

The concept of "investors" in a game that don't actually pay the developer and/or server costs. Is not a concept I agree with.
I am not sure how you "invested" with the old dev team, but I have never seen your "investment"
in the blockchain world everything makes sense and things work as long as there is trust from those who invest time and money to bet on the project, what a bad habit they have to hit users with the phrase "if they did not give me money you have no right to comment "... when the game was about to close, all those who stayed and waited for the situation to be resolved, are as valuable as the one who puts an initial capital in the game ... when I buy something in the market (be it a hero or a battle item) I am placing money so that the game is alive and users have an entry of what they do, that does not reach you directly does not mean that my money is not important for the game .. I do not want to create a controversy about this situation or be an enemy of your work, in life it is important to know how to listen and have humility when leading a project.
If for a moment it occurred to me to give a large amount of money to invest, with your answer I am no longer interested in doing so.
