RE: The Making of Star Citizen: Weapon Balancing

in #gaming6 years ago

Right now I'm very much into Rainbow Six Siege. I also played a lot of Battlefield 4 before that, but the franchise pretty much sucked after that. I hope BF V get's a little bit better again. Other than that I play a lot of Indie games. Platformers and stuff like that.
SC is not something you can call a game right now and it's not much fun to play. I look into it every time CIG drops a new major content release to see what's changed, but that's it. Otherwise I just follow up on the project on CIGs website and their YouTube channel. As a developer myself I'm much more interested in the developing process of the game, than in the game itself right now.
This will change when it's finished for sure, but as of now I'm pretty much exited to see what goes into developing a AAA title. Something you normally never get to see.

As of, if there will be any other games like SC. Not really. SC will be pretty unique. There will be a lot of games, that are similar to SC like Elite Dangerous, Dual Universe or No Man's Sky, but none of them will offer the wide range of game mechanics that SC will have. Assuming SC will be completed of course. :)

Battlefield 4! I'm a pro tanker in Battlefield 4, one of the best in North America and played some competitive games (I'm bang average at every other facet of the game, but a menace in a tank).

That's my battlelog. Really enjoy Tanks and APCs. Can do 100 + kill streaks without dying. I heard Battlefield 1 was weak so I never played it - however, I did visit EA Play recently and got a chance to play a couple rounds of Battlefield V with my clan mates in person. It was pretty good, my clan mates said it was better than the Battlefield 1. I personally probably won't be getting and will just stick with Battlefield 4 - I don't play much anymore, but I just like modern and futuristic settings in games. Battlefield 4 tank gameplay spoiled me.

Also briefly chatted with those two Swedish head devs that were talking about Battlefield V in all the promo videos - they were nice, humble guys. My clan mates straight up told them, Battlefield 1 sucked and this was much better LOL. No shame. They took it kindly and said thank you.

Hopefully SC can fulfill their promises - I'll buy a beast computer for it.

Yeah, I really regret buying BF1. Eventhough i played the Beta for about 10 hours, I only played the actual game 7 hours after it was released. That's how much it sucked.
Because of that and the SW:BF microtransaction desaster I didn't intend to get BF V and since I'm still having so much fun with R6S I also don't really have the need to play another game.
Still, after seeing all that footage and hearing all the information about BF V I might give Battlefield another try if the beta is any good.

PS:
In case you are looking for another game after playing BF4 for so long, I can highly recommend R6S. Eventhough it's a totally different kind of game than Battlefield it's also somehow similar in terms of gunplay, skill/teamplay and the use of gadgets.
The fact that BF V copied a lot of game mechanics from R6S says a lot about how good the game is.
It has a very steep learning curve though and it can be very frustrating to play in the beginning, but it also has basically not skill-ceiling which makes it fun for a long long time.
