Hello everyone!
I was just watching this video and thought that maybe some people around here also liked SpeedRun. If you don't know this word, the concept is quite simple, it is to finish a game as quickly as possible.
There are several ways of doing so, cheating or not, tool-assisted (you basically code your character movements/actions and press play) or manual.
I personally think manual is the best kind of SpeedRun, and watching those videos makes me jealous about people playing that well at a game.
Credits vorpal for this video, which shows a World Record on Rocket Knight Adventures
There are, as you expected, also SpeedRuns of very mainstream games, for example Mario, Sonic and even Pokemon, and this reaaaally gave me a perspective about my skills on those games.
This is the current World Record for Pokemon red/blue, in less than 2 hours
Super Mario was cool right? This dude killed it in 5 minutes. Yeah, FIVE
To find out if the game you loved as a child or the game you're playing right now have SpeedRunners, check out https://www.speedrun.com/ , they have a huge database and almost all the existing speedruns are on it.
Its crazy how many people are pro at this stuff.
