Fallout New Vegas

The other day I made a post about how I wanted to go back and replay New Vegas, so I went to my house and grabber the game, i poped it in and let it install. After installing the game i was super eager to play so I jumped right in. this is going to be a part of an ongoing series where i tell you guys about my playthrough of fallout new vegas.

Character Intro

I started off by making my character. I made an average looking Hispanic male and I gave him a nice clean cut and some 5 o'clock shadow. After watching the awesome intro cut scene that perfectly sets up the struggle between the NCR and Caesars legion I was ready to get going. It turns out that I am a courier that was delivering a package, but I was captured by a mysterious group and shot in the head. I wake up at a doctors house and the Doc patches me up. I decide to focus my character on what I usually like to pick for fallout games. I focus on energy weapons, guns, and speech. I guess you could say my character is a silver tongued commando.

Exploring Goodsprings

I head out the house and I start to look around town and talk to the locals. I run into a young woman that looks over the town and she tells me that she wants to show me the ropes and get me started. she gives me a bolt action rifle and takes me out back to test my aim. she then offers to take me with her to hunt down some geckos that are all over their watering holes. I want to be a helpful waste lander so I agree and we go take them out.

As I am playing I turn on the radio, the beautiful music floods my ears. I sit back and enjoy it while I walk around. I continue to explore and meet the town mom that is sort of like the mayor. I also meet an old prospector, a shop owner and a mysterious cowboy robot named victor. It turns out that victor was the one that saved me and took me to the doc. I ask around town for the men that shot me and left me for dead. No one has much information but I do get some leads. I found out that the group was heading to the new Vegas strip.

Taking on The Powder Gangers

Before I head out I go and talk to the locals some more and I discover that a man is hiding in town because a group called the powder gangers is looking for him. I ask around town and find people are reluctant to help him. I decide to help him and he tells me that I should try to convince as many people in town as I can because we will need all the help we can get. he suggests that I talk to mayor for some support, the shop owner for armor, the doc for supplies, and the prospector for dynamite. Unfortunately I am only able to get 2 of them on board. My silver tongue helps me with the major, but my lack of knowledge about explosives makes the prospector back down. the shop owner does not help because he thinks it is a waste of his money and its not the towns problem. The doc being good guy decides to help. Now I am ready and the powder gangers are here.

I first try to bum rush them and I get mowed down miserably. Next I try to divide and conquer, but my limited arsenal of weapons makes it really difficult to pick them off from afar. Finally I decide to let them come to me. The whole town opens fire on them and we take them down. I forgot just how fun the challenge is of the fallout games. Having recently replayed 4 I expected the easiness from 4. I was excited to take down the gang and get ready to head out to the New Vegas strip.

One last thing I want to talk about is all the great systems in this game. they work really well and they make the game a great rpg. the reputation system, the weapon mods and ammo types, skill requirements, and so much more make the game really deep.

I Want to thank you guys for reading and I hope you will continue to join me on this journey to replay New Vegas. If you want to keep up with me and get game reviews and discussions you can follow me @tga1108
