If your along time fan of the battlefield series like me then I am sure you either played battlefield Bad Company 1 or Battlefield Bad Company 2. I recently got BF 1 and I am having a great time playing it. The balance of the game is so good. every weapon fells strong and all the classes feel useful. Every time a new BF comes out, me and one of my closest friends squad up to jump in and play some rush and conquest. Whenever we meet up and talk about BF, bad company always comes up. Its funny to because when I think back to all the BF games I have played, The 2 that have stuck with me the most, are the Bad company games. I put in way to many hours into bad company 1 and 2. When bad company 2 came out me and my friend played the beta for a month even tho it had only 1 map just because it was so much fun. We both always talk about where is bad company 3? Why did they never make it?
So just like any normal person I asked google when the next bad company was going to come out. What I found was both disappointing but interesting. I found various articles that talked about an interview with dice about the bad company series. They were asked why Bad Company 3 hasn't been made? The answers that dice gave them really made me think. They told the interviewers that they did not know what make Bad Company special. They talked about how fans even had a hard time explaining what exactly made it so good. some liked the feel of the multiplayer while others liked the humor in the single player. Dice sort of mentioned how they feel a bit apprehensive about making a new one because they don't want to let fans down.
This was interesting to me because I asked myself why did I like Bad Company 1 and 2 so much. Surprisingly I had a hard time putting my finger on it. I just remember having a blast playing. I couldn't think of a specific reason. It was more like a bunch of little things as opposed to a main reason why. for one I did love the fact that the campaign was fun and lighthearted. The multiplayer had great big maps, with a wide variety of locations. Maps were designed for specific game modes and that made the maps more fun to play on. The weapons were fast and strong. One of the main things I remember that dice took away from future games was the fact that you could level and entire map. you could literally blow everything to hell and leave the map barren. it was so much fun. I guess when I think about it, The game was so much fun because it did not take itself super serious like other BF game. The online was just crazy fun with players figuring out how to do ridiculous shit. I remember you could blow up the boxes in rush my leveling the building, or you could toss a bunch of c4 on an rc plane and drive it right into the box. I guess dice is right because it is hard to say what made those games special but they should just have fun with it like they did when they made Bad Company 1 and 2.
What do you guys think? did you play any of the bad company games? what do you think made them so special and loved by fans? thanks for reading guys, follow me for game reviews and discussion and keep on steeming on.
Cool post! Agreed, I miss those big maps. Can't wait for the day!
yeah me too! I hope they make another one eventually its crazy. 1 came out in 2008
Ever play hardline? I really miss tactical modern combat with toys and all but damn I love the vehicular Warfare In that game! Aside from that I have another question,
I was wondering if you would be interested in teaming up with me? Aside from my normal random upvoting and curating, I’m looking to team up with some folks whose content I like and they like mine. We can work as a team to help and build each other up simply by doing a search for the tag #minnowtowhale, we can find each other quickly that way. If we build up a decent sized team we can help one another. Quality over quantity style. Interested? You're the first person I asked. I think it could really be a cool outcome. LMK
Yeah I did play hardline for a while. I really enjoyed it on the bigger more open maps because on the smaller maps it felt to much like COD.
ok that sounds cool, what would I have to do? we just add the hashtag to check out each other posts?
Yea, looks like you're already doing great too. Nice job. So yea I guess we could just use one of the 5 tags with #minnowtowhale. It may not be extremely helpful at 1st but once we get a decent amount of people who will honor it, it can be a reliable tag to get likeminded peoples attention. We'll be #teamminnowtowhale. Strength in quality numbers. Thoughts?
yeah that sounds good to me. thanks im just having fun posting about gaming.
Ok cool, I'll start doing a daily search for #minnowtowhale and start tagging. I may not do every single post of mine with that tag but probably about 9 out of ten. Hopefully this works out. Can't hurt to try.
Having fun and making $ - cool ass website we joined huh!
Followed ya and I'l be upvoting your content for sure.
Thanks!
No problem
I want it. Badly. Bad Company 2 was/still is my favorite Battlefield title. But I think they're busy experimenting with other ideas. I mean the first Bad Company was basically them experimenting with destruction which led to what Battlefield is now known for. I don't mind them experimenting. BF1 was a good step in the right direction, and work on the Battlefront series is probably taking up time. I can be patient but I'd love to get back in with Sweetwater, Haggard, Redford, and Preston.
me to man BF2 was so good! yeah they messed up the destruction after that toning it way down I think they finally got a good balance in BF1 the destruction on that game is very good and dynamic without breaking the integrity of the map. Battlefront 2 looks like a step up from 1
I'm not a big fan of fps in all honesty, but I'm glad you have so much passion in it.
Thanks! yeah i love playing fps games. I'm not a big fan of COD games tho lol.
Holy crap, the memories playing Bad Company 2! BF: Vietnam and BC2 are some of my all time favorites! Battlefield 1 is more fun than the last few, but I haven't enjoyed a game from the Battlefield franchise so much as when I first played BC2.
yeah I skipped 3 and played 4 just because it was good for what it was, but I really like BF1 so far
Oh my goodness was I a huge fan of bad company 1 & 2 (and still am). Specifically bad company 2 though! That game has always been one of my favorite video games. Sniping in BC2 was extremely predictable and so satisfying due to the sounds used for guns.
The game play felt extremely solid, yet a bit clunky. In my opinion this only added to the character of the game and made it that much more fun to play. I would describe its gameplay as feeling a bit like and arcade game and that's what I think kept me on it for hours on end. The feels man... the feels.
yeah that's what I think to it was a bit arcady not trying to be supper realistic.
Destruction ofcourse, it is great, unlike rs6 one which encourages camping, bc2 destruction was made to counter campers that hide in buildings. Weapons ttk and other stuff were good too. It also had server browser inside a game, which seems difficult for modern dice.
Game has a lot of problems too:
net code
weapon balance
map balance
team balance
campers
terrible car physics
But still bc2 remains best battlefield for me.
