Dark Souls Remastered is coming to PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on May 25th! There are not a lot of details about what's changed except for:
- Password matchmaking from Dark Souls III
- 6 player PvE/PvP instead of only 4
- Dedicated Servers for multiplayer
Consoles will be 1080P 60fps upscaled to 4K on the consoles that can support it. PC will be native 4K w/ 60 fps cap.

The most exciting thing I've heard all year. I am a huge fan of Dark Souls and BloodBorne. The original Dark Souls remains the best version of the game. I liked Dark Souls III even though some didn't, Dark Souls II though was not a great release in my mind.
Bloodborne though? Legendary.
Dark Souls was always a very bad port to PC, and required a major hack to work well (DSFix), otherwise, it was virtually unplayable on PC. With HD Textures and some mods, you can get it looking pretty damn good.

I really hope Demon Souls gets it's remaster soon as well. There has been talks about it for ages. Many people will never play Demon Souls as it depends on old generation PS3.

Meh..... Bloodborn is like being a todler and learning to walk.
Dark Souls is the real Deal about life and persistência.

I’m hoping, but realistically not expecting, a free PC uplift. But a Switch version? One of the most significant games of ever and portable? That’s got the saliva going.
You played Demons Souls?
I played all souls games, multiple times.
The switch has me wondering. I can’t see it playing well.
I remember when it got announced. I was a Eurogamer forum poster at the time and I remember the early videos for Demons. We were all like "this ... looks ... shit". I remember one particular poster being quite vocal in his disdain for the title.
I remember being in the very same official thread a few years later. That user was, you know, on NG++++++, chatting world tendency and builds, giving advice to newbies and sharing fond stories.
How little we knew.
I remember the first streams coming out of Asia. We were all surprised that the title was already in English, and people were speaking of importing. People spending hours watching one guy run up a bridge, kill some guys, run back to a sword in a ground, go through a menu and do it all again. The strange lure of the game, the unknown, and then the word of mouth stories started pouring out of an idiosyncratic game that told no secrets and pulled no punches.
I remember I ended up buying an American import of the special edition. It had a lovely hard box and a guide with it. A truly limited edition that shortly was asking £200 on the second hand market.
What a game. And Dark Souls was even better.
I hope the Switch version will play nice. I'd sacrifice online play to whittle many hours away on the train or on lunch.
Dark soul, damn me I never knew of such awesome game....and I do call myself a true gamer...... the trailer really thrilled me. Especially when the the light illuminated the darkness, I almost felt like i was on pad.....

If you haven't played any of the Dark Souls / Bloodborne games, then I would wait for this remaster and start with this one. Then play Dark Souls III. If you really love it, play II but it's not as good as any of the others.
i think I will go for the best first....... my friends really needs to know about this game tomorrow morning.......

Man, Dark Souls is so awesome. Literally, in this league, only Bloodborne is better!

Dark souls is dead. From Software has said they are done with Dark Souls. If another company wants to continue it sometime in the future they would entertain the idea.
Sony owns the IP for Bloodborne so it is possible someone else will pick that up since it was so successful.
Sad to hear...but I'm sure they are still going to release something similar even though it may not be part of the Dark Souls franchise. I hope so anyway.

Dark Souls III was my first introduction in the Souls franchise, and I really didn't have the patience to proceed after a couple of tries... I've heard so many great things about the other games and Bloodborne though... Wondering if I should give it a second chance.
