There is a lot of buzz in the Fortnite community about a meteor hitting the central town of Tilted Towers. The main place where all the action happens at the start of a match.
Recent updates added random controller vibrations to the game which Epic Games claims were just a bug. Some users assumed the vibrations were morse code and came up with a theory that April 18th would be the day of the event. This never happened but in the next update, more signs of the event have surfaced.
For those who don't play the game, there are rumors that a meteor will strike the main part of the multiplayer map destroying it either for good or during the last half of each map. There are signs in the game that this will happen.
The comet in the sky many thought was just scenery.
Size of the comet has grown considerably in the most recent patch.
Telescopes scatter throughout the map all pointing to the comet.
This is where things get interesting.
Fortnite is filled with fun dances and emotes that are wildly popular. One is the L Dance as seen in the gif below.

Reddit user the_monotonist took the sound the comet makes into a spectral analyzer and realized it is a visual representation of the L dance.
This first seems like a giant hoax, but many other users have confirmed the same results.
This is either one of the best lead-up to the event we are all waiting for or an ultimate troll by Epic Games.
Those who played Battlefield 4 had a similar buildup to a massive Megalodon shark in the game that is unlocked through a set of strange actions taken by a group of players.
If you don't play Fortnite, you should check it out. Battle Royale is a free game where 100 players parachute out of a bus in the sky and do a mad rush to find weapons and be the last man standing. It's fast-paced, difficult, and requires a lot of skill to survive.

How can you play the popularity of this game? Is TenCent the only way you can get a stake in Fortnite?

Does Fortnite even make any money from Battle Royale? Guessing in-game purchases.
I think I read they make $1M/day selling cosmetics that add no advantage to gameplay.
They just came out with these skins and I see a few people running around with them.
The dinosaur costume costs $37 USD to buy the costume, the pick axe, and the glider, which I see people have all of them.

Just curious to know.I honestly still do not think they will destroy Tilted. I think the meteor has to do with the Single player game being released to the general public. I also think that sound clip thing is a bunch of ****. But my opinion doesnt count for much. It does make the game a little more interesting and huge hysteria type events are great for game promotion. Whatever happens, I hope it is soon and good for the game.

I don't play fortnite, but I think it is awesome how they encoded the dance move into the audio, and I am very surprise that someone actually decided to analyse the sound with spectrum analyser to find out!
Gamers will walk the lengths of the earth to find easter eggs. The amount of work that went into the Battlefield 4 megalodon was legendary.
I think it's a great strategy. The game generate new publicity from the buildup and anticipation, and the gamers get new exciting content! It's a win-win situation. But I guess it takes passionate game devs to pull off something like that.
What if the meteor strikes and just alters some of the current map through a crater and debris? OR just alters the whole map where it's more of a wasteland (like Fallout). A whole slew of new weapons, emotes, etc. Fun!
Wow, that's something unique to hear, as we hear rumours in real life same way we are hearing all these meteor hitting in the games. This game looks cool and i personally like to play games and my favourite one is Max Payne 3 and it's really awesome with amazing story. I wanted to play GTA 5 and bought the GTA 5 game but it's unfortunately not running on my PC due to low end specification system. Thanks for sharing this stuff with us and wishing you an great day.
