Realistic Prehistoric City-Builder Ancient Cities Last 20 Days In Indiegogo

in #gaming7 years ago

The hugely ambitious prehistoric city-building game, Ancient Cities, is currently seeking €25,000 on Indiegogo, after their successful Kickstarter project.

Developed by the small, debut team at Uncasual Games, Ancient Cities takes the model of similar games, such as SimCity and Cities: Skylines in an entirely different direction. Rather than simply building a metropolis, players begin by guiding a nomadic tribe of prehistoric humans to a safe area in which to create a village. As such, the game mixes in survival elements.

Furthermore, Ancient Cities will also incorporate seasonal cycles, dynamic weather, and unique personalities and skills for each person within the burgeoning society. Many of these features are present in the current build of the game, but will continue to be refined throughout the development process. According to the developers, Ancient Cities has been in development for more than a year, with the game’s engine and gameplay already at the alpha stage, with a final release currently scheduled for late 2018.

The game attracted considerable attention when it launched on Steam Greenlight, shortly prior to the program’s closure, with a 95% approval rating from users.

At the time of writing, they have reached their goal of €25,000 and are looking for further funding for stretch goals such as; User Terrain, Office Space, More Biomes and more.
