Okay I might be blowing your mind here but did you know that blowing on a NES cartridge did not actually do anything? And to think of all the hours I spent doing it :p It worked because you kept trying it over and over again.
You held your breath until your lungs grew,
then aimed at the game cartridge and blew,
you started from the left,
and moved right with your breath,
but still, the screen flashed blue.

The worst part was when the habit became so ingrained you started blowing on things that had absolutely nothing to do with gaming. Like when zip drives first came out and wouldn't load properly...
Well, if it worked for me, because before I blew it, it would not start and then if
I dunno man, i still have to do this to this day for some cartridges, even when using clone systems....

Oh man I did this with my N64 cartridges back in the day.
