Good news if you have a ps4. There is still lots of life in it. At least three years worth. This has been confirmed by sony that the ps5 is at least 3 years away which means 2021. I agree with this as there is still a lot of life in the ps4 and there is not a need for a new system yet. The graphics are pretty great and there is still a lot more titles they can make for it before we are looking to make the next leap.
The question then becomes what is that leap? Will it be online only? Maybe a blockchain system. That is what I want to see. Imagine a ps5 wallet that you can play games with and trade your content between games. That might just be a dream but a blockchain system is something I would love to see.
But for now we see what games are coming to e3

You mean like a special trading coin that can get generally traded? That'll be a huge breakthrough. But then again it'll become fierce when you play and bet with your real coins. When you get your ass whooped by the console, you end up losing real cash. That's gonna be painful but fun and competitive.
Sony would make a fortune out of it if they think towards that direction.

They keep saying that consoles are dead but I don't see them slowing down anytime soon. Three years tho? I mean the whole market will be so different by that point.

If the ps4 still has a lot of life ahead, remember that the ps3 continued selling a year and a half after the release of ps4, just imagine the ps5 excites me an interactive blockchain, with 100% connectivity with steemit or dtube to transmit games in direct, for now only a dream.
The next move would be to create a currency on a Sony PSN blockchain that can be used acrosss all games on their platform. They should also consider an exchange platform where one could sell in-game items earned for that currency.
I think is a good timeline because games can bring some kind of cryptocurrencie into them, or emblems that can be tradable for currencies by trading them with other players kinda like a better Diablo III
