AC Milan Vs Inter Milan... Two European giants clash again in what appears to be a hugely anticipated Derby between two teams who have won 86 trophies between them and have met again in a keenly contested match.. A win for any side will guarantee bragging rights as who's the best team.

A fast, hardworking, energetic, opportunistic and prolific goalscorer, Shevchenko was usually deployed as a centre-forward, although he was capable of attacking from the left wing as well, a position which he occupied at the beginning of his career
He was also effective from set-pieces and was an accurate penalty taker. A strong and physical striker with an eye for goal, he was primarily known for his excellent positional sense and his powerful and accurate shot with either foot, although he also possessed good technique and aerial ability, and was capable of playing off of his teammates.

Adriano was a well-rounded, versatile, and modern striker, who combined physicality with excellent technical skills; due to his dominance, power, and skill, he was given the nickname "l'Imperatore" ("The Emperor") during his time in Italy. Adriano was a left-footed player, who was gifted with excellent ball control, dribbling ability, and creativity. He was also a strong forward, with an eye for goal, and an immensely powerful striker of the ball with his left foot, as well as was an accurate free-kick taker; he was also effective in the air. Despite his natural talent, Adriano's consistency, character, fitness, and work-rate were often brought into question throughout his career, and due to his inconsistency in later years, he was widely known for failing to live up to his initial potential.

Again, iconic.
So strong in every aspect of the pitch. Dida was a freak, but the back four was simply perfection. Stam and Nesta were rocks, and Cafu and Maldini were... Cafu and Maldini!

Moving on to the midfield, what worked as more of a diamond was again just so balanced in every way. Gattuso the destroyer, Pirlo and Seedorf covering the midfield, and Kaka, and peak Kaka at that, supporting the attack.

Then you have the mercurial Shevchenko, with his 93 overall rating, and Gilardino up top finishing every single chance that was presented to them.

Iconic Toldo between the sticks was as solid as you could ask for, and the backline had the perfect balance of pace and strength in the Cordoba/Samuel partnership, while Javier Zanetti did absolutely everything, and his unrelated brother Cristiano had all the tools to pass out from the back, even if he was played slightly out of position.

The midfield was so enjoyable too, as Cambiasso did the dirty work while Veron played from deep, Stankovic could score from anywhere, and Recoba had the guild to thread a ball through to the strikers...

And the strikers are what really set this team apart. Not only was Adriano the greatest virtual footballer of all time, but Martins was the ultimate partner with his ludicrous pace and finishing ability.

The sides have been named, the formations have been chosen, thankfully the San Siro means that no side has a true home advantage, so how does it play out?

KICK OFF

The first 5 minutes passed by without an incident, despite the best efforts of Marco Matterazzi to start a fight with Gattuso from the Inter Milan bench.
A cagey start, the game needs a goal, and then..

Just ten minutes into the game have been shy of any real action except the occasional combative intensity between Gattuso and Cambiasso in the midfield. A cautious start by both sides but then a nifty through ball from Adriano

13th minutes Goal from Obafemi Martins

AC Milan can't seem to find a lock on the Inter Milan duo as obafemi Martins is the man who pounces on the through ball from Adriano to give inter Milan the lead and Martins the man of the moment executes his trademark flip Celebration

AC Milan look rattled, and the Inter players smell blood...

27th min: GOAL! Inter Milan 2-0 AC Milan - Adriano

After some magic from Juan Sebastian Verson on the ball, Inter double the lead through crafted network of passes from the midfield an outstanding and deserving goal from Adriano who cracked it into the top corner from long range.
He has been threatening to score all day from when the whistle was first blown and AC Milan pay the price for leaving Adriano unmarked for exactly one second, which is more than enough time for him to control the pass and thump it into the top corner.

An uphill battle now for AC, can they manage to do a reverse-Istanbul of sorts?

38th min: GOAL! Inter Milan 2-1 AC Milan - Kaka

With Inter Milan coasting, they took the foot off the gas thinking they could get into half-time with their two-goal lead intact, Kaka is the man spearheading the Milan charge forward again and with little pressure dribbles his way into the inter Milan defense and finishes superbly from inside the area. AC Milan still have a real chance in this game but the lovely footwork from Kaka presents him with a chance to cut the lead. He was never going to miss and a lifeline for his teem.
Has the momentum shifted? Will AC Milan come out all guns blazing in the second half?

80th min: GOAL! Inter Milan 2-2 AC Milan - Shevchenko

No, they won't is the answer to the above question, instead they will use their intelligence to control the tempo of the game, knowing that if one of their strikers gets a single chance they will draw level, and when it comes with 10 minutes left to play, Shevchenko is ice cold under pressure.

Can AC Milan push on and win it? Do Inter have anything left in the tank? Are we headed for extra time?...

89th min: GOAL! Inter Milan 3-2 AC Milan - Adriano

Cometh the man, cometh the hour.

The Emperor, Adriano latches on to a loose ball and decides that his teammates can no longer help him. He drives right at Jaap Stam and beats him so easily that Alessandro Nesta is paralysed by fear, and even Dida can't get his giant mits to an absolute thunderbolt that finds the top corner... As they always do when you're dealing with Adriano.
The Brazillian breaks Rossoneri hearts at the dying minutes as he finds the top corner of Nelson dida goal post despite the best efforts of the towering shot stopper to stop Adriano shot the whole stadium eruptes in joy and celebration as this game won't be forgotten for years to come

He's delivered, as he always does, when it was needed the most. He must have been on an upward red arrow because he's only had two shots and scored two goals.

FULL TIME: Inter Milan 3-2 AC Milan

And there it is, PES 5 Inter Milan have emerged victorious. The pace of Martins and the godliness of Adriano proved too much, despite AC Milan showing their resolve to battle back, and to keep the big Brazilian quiet for most of the match.
