I've done it, I've taken the plunge. The order is in, okay, I won’t look as cool as that guy, but I have too long sat on the sidelines, so it’s time to put my actual mouth, (eyes) where my money is and go for it.
The vive looks awesome, and I want the PSVR for Rez infinite, but the Rift has captured me, and okay I would rather be a pioneer, an early adopter, but its took me a while to get the PC to where it should be,
So now I am giddy with excitement, and part of that giddiness is because of this, The Climb.
I've tried it in the shop in a time limited demo, and every time I fell to my death it felt strange, I felt like I was actually falling, aye I know, I wasn't, but you fool enough of my senses well then, I am, I am actually falling, you can tell me otherwise but my heart and fear are telling me otherwise.
The other game I can’t wait to play full on VR is Elite dangerous, I honestly can’t wait for this, I have been an Elite kiddie as long as I can remember, I played this on the spectrum for god sake, now I can play it like I was there, actually in space.
I actually remember as a kid a broken arm and a broken leg and still managing to play this, it got me through some dark times, and not I get to play it like I was actually in that world, and my god I can’t wait.
For me that’s what VR is, it’s the massive escape from my adult life, for a while I can go somewhere else, I don’t have to worry about stuff and do you know what, I can’t wait!!
Once I get it and put that bad boy on I will be on here straight anyway and sharing with you all.
For now I keep refreshing the Oculus order page, and soon it will say Shipping...
Coz you know what, i might not look like this
But i'm going to feel like it and that;s all that counts...
Good night you lovely Steemites!!
If you were entertained or somewhat diverted by this post please feel free to Upvote, Resteem and follow @wisbeech, you have been awesome for stopping by!
i am thinking about buying one the rift or vive not sure which is the best? People used to say vive but now I am hearing more for the rift with the new hand controls they came out with are supposed to be really good.
The Vive gives full room support, the rift needs an extra sensor to give you that. Cant honestly say i know which is best, but its a fair investment either way. Its the price drop and the fact that the touch controllers are bundled in the box, that's what prompted the decision.
I am a VR enthusiast too, liked your enthusiasm and followed. I am learning to create VR world through digital artistry. I have a VR gear with Samsung Note 5. Planning for my hands on an Oculus and 3D printer.
I am like an impatient kid at Christmas, cant wait ti get my hands on it!!
Enjoy the experience! Goodnight @wisbeech
Just wait till Elite Dangerous!
Awesomeness. I am a follow you for updates :)
aw thank you, i will defo be updating on my VR journey!!
I can't tell you how ******* jealous I am. Noticed the price has come down so was thinking about it but I also would need to get a new PC or a package with a PC included Rift Ready. Still maybe if the year goes well I might splurge.
I admit both of those games look fun and would surely want to play those too but I really want to try working in virtual desktop and then creative tools like Google Tiltbrush just as much!
Look forward to a review post soon!
To be honest i spent the entire week thinking, will i? Its so much much money, should i, first world problems... As soon as i have it set up and had a mess around with it i'll be straight on with an honest opinion. Thanks for reading.
Yeah, I am in that contemplation phase but won't happen for a few months but fingers crossed! :) I want to start working and developing in that realm sooner rather than later. I'm a web designer etc and curious as to what will change in that world as VR becomes more commonplace.
Look forward to your follow up.
cheers David, will defo be following it up in part 3.
COOL
Elite dangerous, that looks awesome!
Cannot wait to see what that's like!
