So close I can taste it!

The wife sent me a text yesterday at work "He's turned up today with a helper!" HUZZAH! Now we're cooking on gas. This should speed things up, and it did! When I got home, they were still there. "You didn't have to hang on to see what I thought of your progress," I said. "I'm used to it not being much ." the builder, who fortunately is now used to my sense of humour, said, "Come here and give me a cuddle; you know you want to!" I backed off from the dust encrusted 6ft 4" mountain, edging towards me.

Seriously though, they'd really cracked on and broken the back of the job. All the edging is in, the raised level where we have pot plants is almost complete, and it's looking fantastic.

Obviously, there's lots of little jobs that need doing, like backfilling the edge, the footpath slab needs rasing slightly, and the tubs of grouting are ready to be put down.

They should have round the side of the house finished today, although I'm looking forward to how they solve the fact that the slabs are running ever closer to the house. It's hard to see in the photo, but they are veering to the right. I'm not the expert. If I knew how to lay them properly, I wouldn't be paying someone to do it.

Dust! EVERYTHING is covered in dust. It's the price you pay for cutting concrete with an industrial circular saw. Cough.
