RE: 1st bbq 2024

That's regulated on Kommunen-level. In the next town, they have a 'burn day' once a week.

edit: The fine is quite low, but someone might call the firefighters and then it gets really expensive... So I'd rather be safe.
It took me 1 email and I got a reply + permit the same day... Now to fully comply with the permit is impossible (2 pages of stuff) but I'll risk that part...

edit edit:
it is illegal to burn dead wood in this Kommune. (full stop)
I got an exemption, because easter traditions.

Sort:

Uh. What are the alternatives if burning is not allowed? Is there a collection service to bring it to a sawmill or something?

The alternatives are:

  • hire a professional
  • drive the stuff to a local composting facility
  • rent a wood chipper and compost it yourself

Leaving the stuff in piles will be counted as fire hazard and can get you in trouble.

Welcome to Germany! (An overregulated, overtaxed EU shithole, but a paradise for illegal immigrants.)

Yeah, I was thinking the same ... also: a paradise for fax machines ...
