RE: The Winter Garden - Day 177

in #garden7 years ago

I have similar experience with my Basal, the plant grows so well and I could not use it up fast enough. I can help you on how to make a pesto from the basal. And will be nice if you give it a try.

fresh Basil Pesto Recipe.

You will need to first prepare the following ingredients

  1. Fresh basil leaves
  2. Freshly grated Romano
  3. Extra virgin olive oil
  4. Pine nuts
  5. Garlic cloves
  6. Minced
  7. Salt and Pepper (Grind black pepper)

METHODS

Place the basil leaves and pine nuts into the bowl of a food processor.
Add the garlic and Grated romano and pulse. Scrape down the sides of the food processor with a rubber spatula
While the food processor is running, slowly add the olive oil in a steady small stream. Adding the olive oil slowly is important because it will help it to emulsify
Stir in some salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Toss with pasta for a quick sauce, you can apply over baked potatoes or toasted slices of bread.

I hope you do love it.
