IS THIS A CONSUMABLE VEGETABLE?
WHY DO WE HAVE SPARKLING RED VEGETABLES?
These are some of the questions so many people ask when they finally encounter other varieties of green vegetables. Green vegetables are not just green in colour but I believe that any consumable type of plant be it red, green, yellow is termed green vegetables.
In farming, we have series of plants which are very reliable and not restricted for eating but not in green colour or form, this is a type of what i am talking about here. This type of vegetable is also called green vegetables aside its colourful themes that makes it red but still possesses green nature. But to further my write up, I will like to say that it is never a wrong decision to eat this type of green vegetable.
There are some slight differences between the normal green African Spinach and the Red African Spinach which I will trash out this moment.
Some of the differences are -:
- Reddish-brown colouration pattern which makes it different.
- The leafy red vegetable stalk and stem.
- The coloured water when washing it up for consumption.
- Fast maturation period in Red African Spinach.
Some Similarities Between The Two.
- Seed colouration. (Black seeds)
- Tiny little seeds appearance in both.
I believe the consumption of thr reddish-brown African Spinach is not a bad thing to eat but for only the fact that the colour changes in soup when prepared. It is safer for consumption.
Thanks for reading.
Hey, noticed you have the wrong image for Nat med for your blog. It's in the free graphics channel in Discord - can you use the right one please?
I'm growing spinach this year, similiar variety to that I think. Purple vegies are very good for you!
Oh. I will check. Thanks for your observation.

I THINK we actually have this red African spinach here in Thailand! I'm SURE I've seen this flowering in various ditches and around waterways. I'm gonna keep a special eye open for it.
