Gardening Season 2021 - Last Day Of April In Our Garden (April 30)

in #garden4 years ago

Hello and welcome to another garden related post. These pictures were taken on a nice, sunny last day of April.

Big fig tree in from of our house is starting to develop small leaves and buds. It almost feels like big branches are coming back to life with these little pops of green.

For Women's day back in March my mom, sister-in-law and me got these roses as aa gift so we planted them in the flower area also in front of the house. Unfortunately, only one, that you can see on this photo, is doing well and has made progress, the other two are still not giving any signs of growth. We'll keep them for a bit more and see what happens...

4.jpg
Quince tree is still looking pretty with all its flowers and since it is on the way to the garden, I always stop by to take a photo or smell the flowers - they have really sweet smell I really like. \

5.jpg
Cherries are starting to lose their flowers but they still look pretty.

6.jpg
Close up of one of the cherry trees.

7.jpg
And this is how our backyard looks like, with all the fallouts from cherry trees. It looks like spring snow! :)

8.jpg
Apple tree that I took so many photos of barely has any flowers left.

9.jpg
My potted strawberries are looking good - the rest of strawberries are also having more flowers each day so I hope later on in May we'll get to enjoy some.

10.jpg
Raspberries are growing nicely and they spread out everywhere, there's so many small offspring all around these bigger ones.

11.jpg
This is actually first photo I took of the zucchini this season, somehow I keep forgetting about it, but here it is.

12.jpg
One out of two potato areas from our garden.

13.jpg
A little bit of everything in this area. There's still a small portion of empty space on both sides of the garden (pathway is in the middle) and we will mainly use it to move pre-planted veggies that are currently in the greenhouse.

Thank you for reading, have a great weekend!

You have all the ingredients for some awesome food and rakija!
I had never heard of Quince before I got to Bosnia. It is interesting that it comes from a tree.

We usually make plum rakija because in my (extended) family it is considered the best. :)
Sometimes from plum rakija my mom makes cherry and walnut one, it is not as strong but everyone who tried it, loved it.

Haha, the beauty of travel, you always find out something new. :)

The plum rakija I had in America was terrible, but some of what I've had in Bosnia was like heaven. I haven't tried walnut or cherry!
I am deciding now whether or not I am going to extend my stay and try to make it to Serbia.
I want to go, and it seems like a good time to be there.

Yes, spring time is a great time to visit and explore. I hope your boarder experience will go a lot more smoothly if you decide to visit Serbia on this trip. :)

Wow! Look at those onions! My quince is a vibrant red, but doesn't seem to have much scent.
